Are all the Alternators/Binaltechs gonna be cars?

When I first saw Smokescreen I thought WOW, this line is going to be amazing. Tak/Has have finaly got the G1 feel back. Then came Sideswipe (Which I don't like, terrible robot mode IMO). But along came Hound, the improved Dead end (Why use Sunstreakers head? Although I'm glad they didn't ruin my favorite character by having his alt mode as a Viper)

But the repaints are starting to come thick and fast now and still no real Decipticons.

I can understand Swindle, Dead end and now I've heard Drag Strip being cars, but GRIMLOCK?? OK it's a cool figure I just bought the Binaltech version, but why waste the characters name on a car, didn't they learn anything from R.I.D?

But what really is getting at me is, I've seen a Shockwave RX-8, why, why, why? Not to mention no 'Con jets, no Menasor, no Bruticus, no thinking ahead to make this line the greatest. At least they can't introduce repaints of other lines into the series I guess.

Just imagine how awesome an Alternator Menasor would have been

I'm more of the "why, why, why" towards Battle Ravage. I think Shockwave looks pretty cool.

After they put Grimlock and the aforementioned Ravage into cars, I pretty much gave up putting up a fight. (that's an odd looking/saying/grammatical sentence) But Grimlock turned out alright: the Mustang fit him well, and he had a great head sculpt and his trademark sword, so I thought they pulled it off well. I must admit though, I have a hard time getting him into car mode perfectly.

And with Shockwave, I'm glad the kept the one eye, colors, and gun hand. Although the fact that Ravage has a cat head is what I hate about it.

As far as Deceps, those two plus Drag Strip makes three on the horizon with only Wheeljack in the future for Autobots? I don't know, I could be wrong on that.

Altnernator Gestalts would be awesome, but it would be a toy engineering feat, in my opinion.

As for the jets, here's what Professor Smooth told us all during Hasbro's unveiling of their 2005 line:

And they were shown plans for Alternators 2005. Among them: [...] a deep red pick-up truck. No word on the make or model of the truck.
