Who's Your Favorite Optimus Prime?

Just throwing something out.

Yes, I know Primal is not an option.

We're talking about, if you could only own one, which one would it be? Which do you enjoy displaying/transforming the most?

Armada. The smaller poseable one, not the big guy who combines with Jetfire and Overload.

Cybertron Prime is awesome. He seems a freakish combination of RID, G1 and Powermaster Prime.

From what I've seen of GF Prime He rocks.

But from what I have (and have had) I think he's refered to as Bendy Prime. The small Armada Prime.

Because I Powelinked him to the yellow guy from RID Build King, it gives him a kind of circular saw super armour power back pack type thing.

(CSSAPBPTT for short lol :D )

I did start to paint the RID guy in blue, red and silver to match up (but I gave up.

I forget exactly which one I picked, but it was probably Cybertron. He just looks so... cool... "See, E-Prime, get on the Subway diet and this could be you!"

I never owned it, maybe never will, but Bendy Prime seemed interesting.

Powermaster all the way, baby! :D I just love that humoungus fella. He looks so big n strong n upgraded that he can snap original G1 Megs in half. :) And, you know, he looks good when drawn with a marsh-mallow face-plate...

That said, I really liked the design on Armada Prime, far better, and may I even say, superior to Rid-version. He was a G1-Prime for the new century. :) Cybertron version looks to be a god among toys, but I'll hold out on him for a while. Gotta love that he's got the advantage in fire-power
over Megs tho. "Primes the only one with a fire-power potential equal to Megatron."

Bendy Prime got me back into collecting toys again, so I went Armada.
Never owned the Superbrick version though, he was always stupidly expensive round our way..

20th Anniversary Prime

Post by Autobloke » Sun Mar 06, 2005 1:09 pm

What no option for the Masterpiece mech? I've got the US and Jap versions (got the US one first by mistake - boooo!) which makes for cool 'truck mode and 'bot mode in one pic' photos. How do you attach photos to this thing? I'll post some. All he needs now are TWO Autobot logos on his shoulders and a trailer that doesn't require you to kill the packaging. Oh, and YELLOW eyes. Damn that Dreamwave head too.
Honestly, I DO like him, regardless of my moans.
Surely I'm not alone (well, in my opinions at least).

Wait a second - are we talking toy or just the version of the character? I picked the 20th Anniversary version, but that could be considered the original Prime as it's based on that character. The 20th A is still the best version in my humble opinion, although the character of Optimus Primal from BW was the most developed personality of an Optimus by far. Perhaps we need two categories to choose from: toy version or character version.

No Primal because I consider that to be a different character, just like Galvatron isn't Megatron.

No Masterpiece Prime because if there was, that would almost certainly be a clear #1. I think we all agree MP OP rocks.

This particular poll is based on the toys, since it's in toy discussions, but having one based on characters wouldn't be a bad idea, although you'd best make it clear you're referring to comic personas, and not cartoon.

Folks don't take kindly to cartoon lovers 'round here.

if it's toys, then it HAS to be the original guy (if only his hands didn't have to come off. And his gun fitted properly). Still, the original and the best, I can't deny. Although the Laserrod one isn't too bad either. Suppose I can't have TWO favourites?

Oh! And the Action Master one - I like him too. (still sniggering...)

I don't particularly like the cartoon either, but I'm a TF fan so I have to at least be FOND of it. And the much-loved MP Prime is kinda based on the cartoon design - Oh, and the comic too. My error - kill the cartoonists! Esp the Armada/Energon ones.
