There's a new Transformers movie out

I figured we should at least address the elephant in the room. A 5th Transformers movie is in theaters.

I liked the first movie, thought the second was a bit poor (but that forest scene!), enjoyed the third, and found the fourth to be okay.

But I just wasn't feeling this one. Like all the TF movies, there's some really good bits. But this time around, there's a LOT of stuff that had me more interested in my watch than in the action. You could have likely cut out an hour of run time and at LEAST two subplots and been left with a more enjoyable movie.

Still, since the last TF movie has been released, Hasbro/Takara has given us EXCELLENT Combiners, Devastator, Fortress Maximus, and God Ginrai along with plenty of other terrific toys. TF comics, while not "MTMTE great" have been more consistently good than they've ever been. So, all things considered, if $20 and and two hours at the cinema is the worst experience I have w/ the franchise this year, I'm still happy as a clam.

I think I read somewhere a few months back that they're planning on a total of something like 20 films in this series, and I also read that this one will by Bay's last.

But, then again, I remember reading somewhere that the previous film would be Bay's last, and the one before that as well.

I remember meeting Transformers fans at conventions and thinking

"wow, these people are ******* morons"

Bay obviously had a similar experience.

They get the films they deserve.

...And it was the worst one yet! And it's the most panned one, and FINALLY the audience has wised up, and the movie is a bomb, coming in a PRECISELY the right moment!! : D Because the movie-studio behind it is in dire straits, and probably can't take much more, so it'll be very, very careful to do ANY more Transformers movies.

If Paramount does make one, this might actually get them to try something DIFFERENT then the same mindless muck as previously.

And it's the Bay's final movie. Finally. Maybe. HOPEfully!

Rejoice my fellow fans, for we might just have finally come out of the woods, and are stepping into the light... It's been 10 long years, but it might just be over.

With that said, I suppose I should be grateful that these movies probably made one of my fav' franchises super-mainstream and allowed more toys and comics than ever to be released... : O

It's a bit hard though.

SO! Who's hoping Hasbro either does their own movie (sh*t, they probably can, since they've got their own production-company with a tv-channel and everything) or gives the license to...wait for it... DISNEY?! : D

Get Kevin Feige on this sh*t and watch the magic unfold... Well, hopefully he would be a fan of giant fighting robots...

I actually think it's time for an animated TF movie, this time with high-end animation. If not in theatres, then how about a straight-to-video release?

It's a no brainer, I would think. It's been, what, 29 years?
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.
