That's how Titans Return ends? With the Big Bad falling down a hole and another character confirming that Poochy died on the way back to his home planet?
I mean, okay. That's fine. As far as "Hasbro mandated event cross-overs" go, I'm content to let them be treated like Doctor Who Christmas Specials, an amusing break in the main action. Kind of funny to see the the big 28,000 yen toy that the series was supposed to plug showing up for like 5 pages, but that's also fine. He's got guns in his legs.
I don't care. I could bitch and moan about the obvious stuff for another couple of lines, and it wouldn't make one bit of difference, because the tide of battle was turned because Prowl is REALLY good at flipping over tables. Any issues are water under the bridge after that little bit of brilliance.
Now, HERE is my issue with changing the title from MTMTE to Lost Light and the numbering from 58 to 1. MTMTE sounds like a/the main TF book. Lost Light sounds like a spin-off series. That's going to hurt the book's ability to bring in new readers.
James Roberts' series gave us a name for taking away the appearance and ability to function at full strength. IDW subjected the book to Empurata.

Re: MTMTE 57 (Final Issue) Spoilers
I really liked the fact that the Big Bad was taken out by a minor character that they only introduced last issue and who can't even speak. All of Sentinel's plotting and scheming and carefully-laid plans and then he just gets knocked down a big hole.
The table-flipping and the argument over the washing up were nicely executed and I was happy with the way things were left for Red, Prowl and Fort Max. The flashbacks to the Lost Light were also welcome, even if they don't quite match up with the actual events (Rewind wasn't there when Red found his discs, though since it wasn't a "real" memory it's questionable whether that actually matters).
But it's a bit of an odd way to go out, and eh, the art wasn't the greatest.
I'm really looking forward to the Roche/Roberts collab Scavengers issue though.

Agreed! That made it all better. Great to see Prowl back where he belongs, penned by James Roberts. Now if they could give Shockwave the same treatment (I still say he's alive somewhere, dammit! Maybe fused to Bumblee holding up a HELP US sign perhaps?)
Looking forward to The Lost Light and the many loose ends MTMTE laid down being tied up. The release schedule, however, has done a number on my keeping Roberts masterfully crafted subplots and timeline shenanigens straight.
Can't wait for the Scavengers bit.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

Next, a one-off with the Scavengers and then Transformers: Lost Light, a new series that picks up from the end of this one. Rodimus is blue, apparently.

Over the years, he's been Orange, Pink, Red and Purple. Blue seems like the logical next step.Metal Vendetta wrote:Rodimus is blue, apparently.
