EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I'll keep it spoiler-free for now, but that was one of the best issues of MTMTE in ages. Dilemmas, intrigue, betrayal, heartbreak and surprises, this one really does have it all. Great stuff.

Re: MTMTE #51
Spoilers obv...
Only Roberts could make me so excited to see Drift of all people show up. Ravage really is a bastard tho.
Ten better not die.
In fact my heart can't take anyone dying.
THE TENSION!!!

Ravage is absolutely perfect. Why would he give a toss about Ten? Such a good moment.
Ten is so adorable. He's doomed.
That ending was so unexpected and brilliant.
What are people's thoughts on the organics in stasis? My guess is they are the remainders of the species that Megatron made extinct and the Necrobot was preserving them for some reason

Much as I love Ten, I'm finding it really hard to dislike Ravage, partly because of nostalgia, partly because he's a witty, charming bastard and partly because he's a cat.Hound wrote:Ravage is absolutely perfect. Why would he give a toss about Ten? Such a good moment.
I think it's more likely that the Necrobot was in league with the same people Demus was in league with, which is why Demus had a big storage room full of partially-organic beings in storage under his scrapyard and after Fort Max offed him, those two mysterious dudes showed up and ordered that the facility be purged and production moved to a new location... like the Necroworld?Hound wrote:What are people's thoughts on the organics in stasis? Re: MTMTE #51
Somebody on another TF site I lurk at posted these points:
- Tarn REALLY seems to delight in torturing Skids when Skids tries to save Quark. Why? Because Skids (with Orion Pax, et al.) left him for dead and forgot about him.
- I think the real twist would be that Tarn is Roller and, for everyone in-universe, it is not a twist. Maybe Roller becoming Tarn is common knowledge that almost everyone knows? Much like how a certain benevolent Senator became one of the higher ups in Deception command structure.
- There is a certain poetic justice to Tarn being Roller. After all, who did Optimus put in charge of the Wreckers? Impactor. Megatron's BFF. If you turned my best friend against me, I would certainly consider turning your best friend into the embodiment of everything you hate. I think Roberts' great contribution to the IDW-verse was to elaborate and explain how the Autobot/Decepticon war is so freaking personal for Optimus and Megs. Everyone else is fodder.
They're all well made.

And Skids definitely knows Tarn, he even says "That's [real name]! I know his voice!"snarl wrote:- Tarn REALLY seems to delight in torturing Skids when Skids tries to save Quark. Why? Because Skids (with Orion Pax, et al.) left him for dead and forgot about him.
I think Tarn's identity is - if not common knowledge - at least known to our key players. Megs obviously knows who he is and the way he talks about Tarn in front of the others kind of suggests to me that they're aware of his story as well.snarl wrote:- I think the real twist would be that Tarn is Roller and, for everyone in-universe, it is not a twist. I'm not disputing that Roller=Tarn makes all kinds of sense narratively and if it were any other writer I would have plumped 100% for it. It's just that when dealing with James Roberts on a series called More Than Meets The Eye I can't help but feel that there's something else to it that we've been missing all along. I think at this point we can discount some of the crazier theories floating around out there - he's almost certainly not Dominus Ambus in a Magnus-style suit, for example - but I just think there's got to be something else to it. Maybe there won't be a "big reveal" after all and the twist will be that we're left only with what we've been given to make up our own minds - in which case I'd say he was Roller without a doubt.snarl wrote:- There is a certain poetic justice to Tarn being Roller. Somtimes things are what they seem. I'm actually hoping Roller is Tarn. The element of surprise shouldn't be used so often it becomes banal.
