Thought it was good. Dialogue seemed a bit wordy at times. Guess you UK guys will be happy with the Carnivac intro.
Thought the animal bit was actually kind of fun. Especially loved the sea-rabbit and that whiny whale. Don't know why, just made me smile.
Looks like Verity is dying from something. Cancer from prior irradiation during her time with the TF? Maybe she's preganant? Did she and Hunter or Jimmy ever have a thang?
Not James Roberts level stuff, but fun nonetheless.

"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

I really enjoyed it--I think Nick has a better sense of pacing and plot than James, but he can't write dialogue and character with the same snap, though he has the same OBSCENE wordcount. I think that Last Stand may have benefitted from having James tweak the dialogue, above all.

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

Re: SOTW #2 (spoilers)
The dialogue in SOTW has been a little... weird for me. It does seem at times that characters are talking past each other and no-one's really listening to anyone else, which I think works dramatically, but means I've had to read each page a few times to get a good idea of where everyone's at. I agree with Bumblemus, it feels like a good once-over edit by Roberts would make it snappier and really make these characters shine.
That said, it's a minor problem and most of the gripes I had with this series had pretty much disappeared by the end of issue #2. There's lots to enjoy here and Yaya's right - as a UK guy Carnivac's inclusion does elevate it for me. If he had an identical appearance and dialogue but was called "Wolfang" instead, I wouldn't be half as invested.

Good point. Hadn't considered that. I knew the dialogue didn't feel like it lived up to the standards of LSOTW but couldn't undertstand why.I think that Last Stand may have benefitted from having James tweak the dialogue, above all.

I find the dialogue awful.
It's like they could be anywhere do anything on any panel just mumbling along.
It's a comic, use each panel, and each small speech bubble to tell a story.
Don't like it.

I'm not feeling it so far. It doesn't feel like the stakes are very high. There's time for that to change though.
Hubcap's speech patterns annoy the heck out of me too.

The one thing that I really liked about this issue was that for the first time in ages I got fooled by that whole "robots in disguise" thing. Didn't peg either the rabbit or the bear as Cybertronian until Polar Claw transformed and it was a really nice, genuine surprise.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!
