Re: Transformers Punishment
Oh good, I can buy this without feeling weird, then?

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.
Re: Transformers Punishment
Transformers Punishment is when you think MTMTE is going to come out this week, and it's coming out the next. The End.

Re: Transformers Punishment
Wow. I was expecting a total piece of crap before I read this.
To my surprise, it was even worse.
Ugh. How is it that authors such as Barber manage to be given positions so many more capable writers would dream of having?

If anyone can get me a meeting with Ryall, I'll give the job my best shot.

Re: Transformers Punishment
I thought Punishment was great. I don't care for the art, however the story was brilliant. I thoroughly enjoy the dynamic of Megatron and Prime realizing that neither side was the "good guys".
Oh well, to each his own.

Re: Transformers Punishment
I particularly didn't like the way the story is set up as a mystery. The kind of mystery that if you think real hard and connect the dots, you could figure it out. Instead, in the end Barber gives us two pages of explanation of events we know absolutely nothing about to explain away why it was him that murdered those Cons. Two pages that I still can't decipher. Granted, it kept my attention, but I was disappointed in the payoff at the end.
Guess you saw something in it that I didn't, OPR.

Swing away, Yaya. I could pitch a dozen Transformers comic ideas before breakfast at this point.Yaya wrote:You serious? Cause I possibly swing that.bumblemusprime wrote:If anyone can get me a meeting with Ryall, I'll give the job my best shot.

Come on, Yaya, I'm not getting any younger. Spill. Are you Ryall's eye doctor or something?
I read this. As usual Barber kind of wobbles his way through a good idea. Love the central concept of Sandstorm, as a Wrecker who saw all sorts of war crimes, taking post-war vengeance. Can't help feeling like it could have been done more gracefully--without the now-cliche of mysterious explosions on Cybertron. Seriously, how many mystery bombings were there in RiD? Then Windblade? I feel like Scott and Barber don't know how to write shadowy labyrinthine politics without bombings. Maybe it's just because the book doesn't have any sex in it.
There's a thought. If Windblade and Starscream were organic, who'd bet they'd have knocked boots by now?

Re: Transformers Punishment
I agree it was cliched at times, but the main idea to me is what was important. I am in love with the idea of both sides realizing that neither were "right" or "wrong".

No, my bro talks with him a lot. Waiting to hear back from him. Though he doesn't think Ryall is taking CV's right now.

Re: Transformers Punishment
Your brother talks with him? Crazy. Well, just some info about the circumstances under which he takes pitches would be useful. I've got a lot of my own projects on the burner, but I need to find some money to pay an artist--and I need to find an artist who can draw backgrounds, not just poses.
