How did Marvel's G1 end for you?

The story that began in the 1984-1991 comic... how did its continuity ultimately - and personally - conclude for you?
In Marvel's G2 or IDW's ReGen?
Is there a consensus?

I think in a way for me it ended with End of the Road.

That was a good, solid (non) ending.

G2 was great but felt a bit one step removed - the scale changed so much (by the end)

And Regen was also great but ultimately had a big What-if/Greatest Hits feel about it.

I think the reason overall though is that, before i discovered G2 i had already told so many stories in my own head as to what happened after 1991 that the original series is somehow enshrined all on its own.

Conversely though i somehow manage to see MTMTE as a kind of continuation so you know what...

It never, er, concludes.

I loved G2 too much to really picture ReGen as the ending. He didn't even touch on the Liege Maximo! That said, ReGen was pretty enjoyable (especially when we suffering through Dark Cybertron).

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

My heart goes with G2, but I really did enjoy the Regen ending quite a bit. That bittersweet shot of Rodimus being the last Transformer was pretty heartwrenching.

It's a bit like Red Dwarf for me.

End of the Road is series 6. That's it, done, we're finished. No more.

Then G2 is like series 7/8, except good. It's some more of it later. A belated reprise. Nice to have some more - it's there if you want it, but not really essential.

Then Regeneration One is the stuff that was done for Dave.

Are you telling me that Peace, the UK Annual story, when 'the last Decepticon fell and the war began again' wasn't the end?
