MTMTE Trades

Grabbed the first four trades on eBay for a cool 35$.

The layout is fantastic. On the first page and the following leaf, we get a nice graphic of pixellated white bits around some of Nick's best art. Lots of juicy bonus material in the first trade. Following "death of Optimus" there's a composite pic of promo art, featuring each Autobot. Interesting taglines include: "Swerve doesn't know" (Blurr's number) and "Rewind does things he shouldn't."

The most intriguing, as-yet-unfulfilled tagline: "Cyclonus is key."

Fantastic sketches from Alex Milne of Lost Light settings, including Rung's office, and a lovely two-page set of fun facts: "Everything you didn't realize you needed to know about More Than Meets The Eye." Some gems: Tailgate was originally Powerglide, Skids originally showed up in issue #1, chased to Cybertron, but he was replaced by the Cyclonus/Whirl fight.

The rest of the trades are disappointing, though. Only extra feature is Guido's sketches of the original Cybertronians in Vol. 3. The trades all cost as much or more than the individual issues--20$ each, containing 4-5 issues. I would really like to see a bonus-heavy edition of MTMTE #1-12 or so, like unto the Wreckers hardcover.

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

i have such a love hate thing with bonus material.

On one hand - yay, bonus material.

On the other - **** you i am sustaining your cash flow by buying monthlies, don't thank me by wanting me to buy the same stuff again to get 10 extra pages of niceness.
