For some reason, Barbers writing seems a bit (just a bit) tighter with these Orion Pax issues. Still cringe-worthy in many places, but always better that the RID issues on Cybertron for some reason. Or maybe I just like them more because we're off that metal mass of chaos.
Anyway, it was okay. This stuff with the Metrotitans is really getting convoluted though. I still don't know what the Metroplex Spotlight with Alpha Trion has to do with the RID Annual story has to do with the Moonbase two collecting Metrotitan parts in MTMTE yadda yadda yadda. Someone want to give a succinct little history on these Metrotitan events? Didn't think so.
Art was okay, kind of strange. Good in some places, poor in others, but serviceable.
Nice to see Gorlam Prime again, if only to reflect on Simon's past storyline with the Dead Universe in Devestation/Revelation. As much griping as I did about Simon's stuff back then, it easily is the second best stuff we've had from IDW.

"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

Re: RID #19 Spoilers
Never thought I'd like the art in a story LESS than Heart of Darkness.
Really didn't appreciate how this guy seems unable to draw Transformers, only humans in suits. Hardhead just comes across as a Cadian Imperial Guardsman the whole way through (Most guys here will get the 40k reference, yes?)
Also Wheelie on the last page?
Story was pretty good, but delivery was way off. Some of the writing was just a bit too iffy. Seemed to have a couple of typos. Or I HOPE they were and not failed attempts at puns.
Really missing Livio's art on these Pax stories, but at least we're getting it on Monstrosity.

My girlfriend disputes this claim. And has just forced me, Clockwork Orange style, to be subjected to HoD again.Sunyavadin wrote:Never thought I'd like the art in a story LESS than Heart of Darkness..
I am now, hesitantly saying "I disapprove of them more or less equally"...
