And that right there does it for me.
Many years I've remained a fan, and waited for something better... longer than a majority of any of you.
But it's just been one hunk of junk after another.
Optimus Prime died in The Movie and the entire franchise went with him.
And the comic books are junk... because they never once wrote a story without holes a third grader could drive a truck through.
I'm burning my entire collection. That outta help all the retards trying to profit off all the junk.
But I'm still gonna kick Bay in the nuts if I ever meet him. Transformers or not, that was a garbage movie series. Now, if they'd have left it alone after the first one, then maybe I wouldn't, but it was junk, so I just gotta do it.
I'm finished with Transformers.

Look. I'm really sorry that you didn't like the first three Transformers movies. Not quite sure why you'd keep seeing them after disliking the first one, but that's neither here nor there. But the people who made those movies also made three billion dollars from ticket sales alone. The people who own the Transformers brand also brought in billions from toy sales.
So, from a business point of view, there's really no justifiable reason to not keep the same director.
Might I suggest another hobby? There are plenty of other series with giant robots out there. You could try Power Rangers or Super Sentai. If you don't want to limit your options to just lines aimed primarily at children, you might give Macross and/or Gundam a shot. As an added bonus, most of that fiction doesn't have "plot holes a three year old could drive a truck through" because children aren't the main audience.
If you're not enjoying your hobby, get another hobby. Especially if the hobby you're not enjoying is the same one that others are happy to throw billions of dollars at. Because, from a business point of view, there's no reason to change it.

My fiance doesn't much care for the newer movies, but I think they're okay. I didn't much care for them at first but I actually enjoyed the last one, tbh. I was entertained by the fact that its plot was basically stolen from a couple of the G1 cartoons. Though I think the new eye candy is worse than the last one, I was greatly amused by the fact that her white outfit never got dirty (iirc, been awhile). If only they'd get rid of the ******* shaky cameras! What with the character designs seemingly being "random pieces of scrap metal glued together", I can't make out a damn thing half the time.
Reflex- You might be happier with the plot for the video games they're currently releasing.

The tears burn like hot plastic... oh wait, that is hot plastic. Damn it, I left Universe Classics Galvatron on the stove!
Hm... he melted. A bit of an improvement.

Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.
I've been a Transformers fan longer than all of you put together. I was a fan before they even invented it.
I remember when the online fandom consisted of me and two mates talking on ATT. It was better then. There was no content to distract us from our opinions.
Then came Beast Wars and G2 (in that order, you'll find) and ruined everything by being brilliant. At least you've GOT Transformers nowadays, and at least it's got the decency to be awful.
Whiny bitches, you don't know how lucky you are.
Now let me go back to my Actionmaster Doublepunch who's AWESOME because I'm the only one in the world to know what he looks like.

My issue is more with how symptomatic it is of a falsehood that pervades Hollywood cinema. I'd direct you to http://www.gq.com/entertainment/movies- ... ark-harrisProfessor Smooth wrote:Look. This is the big problem. The same problem that to differing degrees pervades every artistic commodity on the market. Lowest common denominator. It's all about what brings in the safest money. Not the biggest money, mind you. The safest money. Charlie Brooker nails it when he points out that Hollywood is losing out (And it is definitely losing out, a massive chunk every year of film industry revenue disappears to be replaced by an equally sized or larger chunk of games industry revenue) by refusing to invest in the same kind of quality we see in games http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree ... barrassing .
Compare the TF live action films to WFC. And WFC is not even trying much by gaming standards, it's a pretty generic TPS with vehicle sections liberally spread through it. Plot-wise though, it manages to be more coherent, and even more intelligent than these films. And it doesn't even need the "humanising" element of focusing on human characters for the viewer to "relate to". How many human characters did Pixar have to add to "Cars" to make it possible for the viewer to relate to? It follows a generic good vs evil plot but does it WELL.
Basically it has the key elements that would draw the exact same numbers of viewers were it done as a film with the same budget and marketing as the live action ones - GIANT ROBOTS SMASHING EACH OTHER.
You don't need to just tack on as an afterthought each and every single element your "marketing experts" say will allow it to "target x demographic". No. But what you can do is let people work on making a good quality film, which will rake in all the money you want REGARDLESS, and on top of that win massive critical acclaim, cementing it as a classic you can milk the long term sales of for as many centuries as your lobbyists can keep extending copyright, rather than a summer blockbuster of yesteryear that's forgotten when the next big technology in special effects emerges..
