Transformers #31 Review (SPOILERS)

Post by Yaya » Thu Dec 08, 2011 2:32 am

Don't feel like really commenting.

My God. I've lost my desire to even give reviews anymore.

So yeah, you guys can be happy about that, at least.

I mean, somethings got to counter your urge to punch a wall after this issue, right?
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

Only read the preview so far, but it looks singularly awful. Why do transforming robots have children? Who like bedtime stories?

Go listen to the Costa "Wrap" interview at the Underbase. It might make you feel like commenting.

Roberts is right around the corner, thank Primus.
For now, it seems like IDW wants my money.

uh... i didn't mind this one so much. It was relatively good. Emphasis on that third word there.

And so far removed from everything as to not be weeing directly into your pint like most of the last three (sheesh) years.

Plus the art is, in the words of Gleed, amaze.

It's Casey Coller isn't it?

I met him an NYC Comic Con last year and I'm now a little bit in love with him.

His face is amaze.

For all intents and purposes, this issue had a Pat Lee variant cover...

haha!

By the way - it also felt like a cynical return to Costa's best bit, i.e the IH mini.

I'm having a hard time believing it was the same guy who wrote both the ongoing and the Ironhide mini. It just seems like, after the Ironhide mini was well received, he would have taken what he did right from that and infused it into the ongoing. But he didn't. Not sure why.

It should have been nothing but those splash pages of Casey recreating moments from IDW's run.

Other than that, it was Costa celebrating his work as if he made some amazing contribution to the canon. The Death of Optimus Prime has already made me forget how sad, sparse and directionless this was.

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

Wow. Before checking the forum, I actually believed TDOOP WAS issue 31. Clearly my local store decided to spare me this. From what's been said, Its very existence would offend me. Good thing I missed it.
