Transformers 29 Review: Spoilers

Post by Professor Smooth » Fri Nov 04, 2011 7:19 am

I love Transformers. It's been my main hobby for about a decade. It's my little escape from the world. So I tend (and by "tend," I mean "actively and intentionally") to just ignore what I don't like so I can spend more time loving what I do.

As such, here's a VERY spoilery review of all that is good about TF 29:

We're 2 weeks away from (likely) never having to read another Transformers comic from this author. May he continue to find success on other books. His GI:Joe is fantastic.

This may be the worst Transformers comic book ever written. Possibly even worse than the issue that started this whole "Spike killed Scrapper" bollocks.

Couldn't agree more.

At least AHM was 'only' 12 issues.

This has been almost 3 years of utter dreck and this issue was (sadly unsuprisingly) a total anti-climax to years of stupid plots. Hopefullt this will prove to be the Last Mike Costa Transformers Story on Earth cos he just doesn't get it.

Spikes a double-dealer! ZOUNDS! It all makes sense! All of it! Mostly. Well, sort of, anyway. Actually....it makes no God damn sense at all.

But hey, what a curveball!
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

Ding dong, the witch is dead! Which old witch? The Wicked witch!

Saw some dissatisfaction with this issue on another board where dissatisfaction wasn't always approved of or (sometimes) allowed... I could only shake my head. It's like, at this stage of the game, you're just now realizing that Costa was not the guy? After two (plus) whole years of disappointment? I think most people (i.e. the hundreds and hundreds of readers that kept dropping the book every month) realized this a while ago!

Whatever; it's almost over. No more wrong-minded editor, no more ill-cast writer and hopefully no more movie-inspired designs. Let's rock.
For now, it seems like IDW wants my money.
