Transformers #28 Review (SPOILERS)

Post by Yaya » Thu Oct 20, 2011 11:22 pm

Someone tell me what the hell is going on.

And is there such a thing as infrared goggles for comic book reading, because things are so dark, I can't make heads or tails of what I'm seeing. It's almost as bad as Bayformers in broad daylight.

Megatron turns into some sort of Thunderwing-type monstrosity made up of other parts of...him, I guess?, Galvatron's got his Heart of Darkness funk going on, Decepticons show up after Megatron's body serves as a space bridge link (wow, guess you missed that little tidbit on the exam, eh Ratchet?"), something like the Swarm (D-void?) is crawling out of Cybertron birthed as a twisted amalgamation of Sweeps and Decepticons, Devestator's back and he's dragging his dead leg Scrapper along with him.

Acid trip. That's what this is.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

This makes me want to buy the comic. Is that a good thing?

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

I read this, and I have to laugh. Even though I wrote it.

Yep. Acid trip. All we need is Trypticon playing a banjo and the dream I had last week will come true.

That would be stupid. Everyone knows Trypticon plays the lute.

In your dreams, pal.

Oh wait. Maybe it is in your dreams. My bad.

I liked the bit half way through where someone tried to make Drift read his own mini-series

Ah. That'd explain him going all harrikari on us.

This comic makes no sense! No sense, I say!

Why does Megatron now look completely different to how he looked whilst being held in captivity? He's now got a samurai mask...

Where did this whole evil combiner thing come from? I appreciate it's meant to be a twist, but just feels like I'm missing 75% of the story.

Why did Sunstreaker have a wheelchair?

Why is Soundwave so monstrously fat on that alternate, black and white cover?

Did the Constructicons literally carry Scrapper's cadaver around with them until they found an opportune moment to form Devestator?

Since when could Prime read Galvatron's thoughts using the matrix, other than as a plot device?

Who the f**k is writing this, and when is he gone?

I'm waiting for the good runs to begin, damnit!

I want some entertainment. Not merely amusement.

I loved this, for all the nonsensical reasons noted. Also for Drift's self-mutilation. Yeah!

Trufax.

Though IDW could have warned me beforehand that the pages of this issue were laced with LSD.
