Transformers #27 Review (SPOILERS)

Post by Yaya » Fri Oct 07, 2011 3:10 am

Kind of liked elements of this. Specifically, the whole bit with Prowl and Streetwise. Just felt very...Transformy? A bit like something you might expect from a Transformers comic. Parts of it feel like something right out of Infiltration, which was a pleasant surprise. Never thought I'd use 'Infiltration' and 'pleasant' in the same sentence, but there ya go.

And the whole Brawl point-man bit has Shockwave written all over it. And I needs me some Shockwave.

Of course, the whole Spike bit, which is the major premise of this story, is the weakest link. Why so many have dedicated so much time and energy to investigating whether Spike actually killed a Decepticon in cold oil will forever remain not only a mystery to me, but also the biggest crock of **** I've seen in a TF comic in a long time. And I thought the Predacons working with Korea was lame.

Give it a "B-" Average at best but some nice moments.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

It's ok...ish. I can see what you're getting at in that it's transformery. In parts it feels like one of the throwaway - but decent - earth force stories.

But the piss poor humans, and this being a story based on stupidity about Spoke...

AIDS.

My overall score is that this comic has BAD AIDS.

Why is this investigation of Spike still going on? Who cares!

With a cloud of nasties on Cybertron, Megatron on the loose and Galvatron planning evil why should anybody give a good rat's ass about who killed Scrapper?

Also, would I be right in thinking that Prowl and Streetwise are partners because... they're both police cars? Is that the sort of deep meaning going on there?

The ending. Oh god the ending.

The premise of this is so flawed you could run a hoover over it.

And seruioulsy - i can not remember from panal to panal who these human non Spikes are, they are so generic. Oh except the girl one, because she has the distinguishing factor of being a girl.

Wheeljack was fun tho.
