Careful what you wish for!
Now this looks to be a reality - what are your hopes for this? We are all pretty well (ha!) versed in the original run. What questions need answers (as the press release seems to imply)? Should it be markedly different from G2? What should and shouldn't happen (e.g Starcream and, sadly, Ratchet really should stay dead) or do you want or not want to see?
And how do you feel about the 19 issue run? I'm a little dissapointed its not just a full time ongoing but saying that feels a little churlish at this juncture - does that mean we will get an ending of sorts? More conclusive than TF80?
Things i want to see;
Fort Max's story on earth continued
The Bot's struggling with peace
More Bludgeon
Galvatron!
the bot's actually cleaning up their messes - e.g not leaving the ark lying around
Furmlock
Carnivac
Things i don't want to see;
Much if anything in the way of retconning
Starscream (or anyone else who was patently dead, like Scorpy)
An attempt to fit in too much with earthforce - i think this is beyond doing and would be a waste of effort

I'm happy to let G2 be the Rebirth to issue 81's Headmasters.Best First wrote:think this is pretty unlikley based on comments from SFBrendocon wrote: Something that builds into G2.

Shockwave. I wants me some Shockwave vs. Megatron. I hope they both somehow survived the Ark crash.
Magnus vs. Galvatron would be nice. Surely, lying dormant in a frozen lake courtesy of Fort Max isn't enough to stop the Big G. Was Magnus even in U.S. Marvel at the end? Come to think of it, I don't think he was ever in the regular US Marvel series? Am I wrong?
I want Optimus Prime to revert back from balding old man to Transformer. Or did he do that already? Been a while.

I want to see UK continuity kept in canon as much as possible. There's no reason why not to, with IDW reprinting the UK stuff in trades there's no excuse for US readers who haven't read the UK stuff not to get their hands on it. So when Magnus fights Galvy, make reference to his previous clashes (though for this Galvatron I suppose it'll be their first fight).
If the Wreckers come back, only three of the originals should be left – Springer, Broadside and Inferno, and I guess Whirl if it is ever explained where he buggered off to.
If there is an uneasy peace on Cybertron then Carnivac, as the Decepticon who joined the Autobots, could have a big part to play in that.
Budiansky's Blaster would be nice to see, if Furman can write him that way.
I'm against bringing people back from the dead (if their deaths meant something, like Scorponok, why ruin that?)
I'd like to see the style hark back to 1980s comics, rather than modern decompressed storytelling for the trade. Forget trade paperbacks, just tell stories whether they are one issue of six.
Return of Stephen Baskerville. And any chance of a Geoff cover?

Well, if Simon is going back and reading everything, I hope he sees Blaster. I'd love to see Bob's Blaster crop up again as opposed to a background guy reading computer readouts.
Certainly not make or break stuff for me... but I don't think his character arc really ever finished, and it'd be nice to have all the loose ends possible tied into a little bow.

For now, it seems like IDW wants my money.
Somebody remind me what happened to Bob Blaster. Last I remember, he duked it out with a nutty-as-hell Grimlock with that silly crown. Did he ever do anything after that?

He did some stuff with Jesse on Club Con, then got 'killed' by Underbase Starscream and was seen as one of the disembodied heads in Ratchet's workshop in issue 56. Then I don't think we saw him again until issue 75 when he was among the nucleon-reanimated Autobots onboard the Ark, and he was all Furmanised after that.

Khutzbah?
Well, I guess you can explain Blaster's mental decline. First, by attending Club Con and second by being fried by Starscream.
Sad fact is thought that Furman could probably do a better Bob Blaster than Budiansky could, whose likely response to such a request would be "Blaster who? I don't remember him. Probaby because I just don't care."

I would love to see Baskers too. He's come on this forum before. BASKEEEERS! INKS! LISTEEEEEN!
Doubt that Furman will screw this up given the general quality of his IDW run. My only worry is that he has never been good at wrapping **** up, even at the end of G2, which was a pretty good ending.
At the same time, when are we ever going to get a real, honest-to-Primus conclusion to any TF continuity? This is going to be the only time the TF franchise ever ENDS in some form. Hopefully after this Furman will get to do the same thing with the Energon DW comic--I wouldn't mind seeing the conclusion to that; it was a fun comic.

Or do one big poo in the morning and another one in the afternoon. I bet they weren't even excited by and then subsequently disappointed by Star Wars Prequels. Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

So does this mean more Neo-knights and an explanation as to the Nucleon process?
[/devils advocate]
Seriously though, I'll be interested to see how this unfolds as the last couple of issues of the original run were quite obviously Simon scurrying to wrap up plotlines, i wonder which (if any) of these might have impacts on anything he had planned / has planned once again, for the future...
