Honestly, I think it's going to depend on IDW actually giving this some GOOD advertising. People aren't going to know it exists.Yaya wrote:Prediction: It will not end with #81. It will quite possibly outsell the current ongoing(s) and IDW will make it a third ongoing.

So will Circuit Breaker and Death's Head be in the series? I would go on the IDW board to ask, but I've sworn off the stuff.

Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

As an opinion, probably not. They're not owned by IDW/Hasbro and are (in TF terms) minor characters so they wouldn't be worth pursuing from a licensing perspective and aren't worth the legal risk of using without license.bumblemusprime wrote:So will Circuit Breaker and Death's Head be in the series? That's going to make issue 81 somewhat odd... no Neoknights! Dungemmewrong, I won't miss them as such but it's going to make the story wrap up interesting.
Mr. Furman zir, if you're listenin', I dare you to end the run with the Leige Maximo revealled as Sooty. Go on. For the lulz.
Ugh, why bother? Even with the improvment looming on the IDW front, it's still no Transfans.co.uk.bumblemusprime wrote:So will Circuit Breaker and Death's Head be in the series? I would go on the IDW board to ask, but I've sworn off the stuff.
My guess would be no to anyone (certainly DH), but prehaps we might get subtle references here and there. No GB Blackrock, either, I'd guess... but I could be wrong. I don't particularly care about the Knights, but GB and Josie were both important characters, once.
In my dream world, as long as we're wrapping up loose ends, we'd find out whatever happened to the Mechanic and the Road Jammers. I'd love to see some kind of quick five pager about how the lord of the Oregon underworld is a wizened old Mechanic, keeping order with Cybertronian med-tech... and the Road Jammers cropping up for a quick hi and die or somesuch would be amazing.

Why stop there? We could have a whole series of Budiansky's throwaway characters. "In This Issue... The Mechanic Tries To Stop Bomber Bill From Getting Home!"

Oh, man! Bomber Bill 4 Life!
It really would be interesting to see some 5 page backups or an interlude issue devoted to seeing some folks who have been touched by the Transformer's presence on Earth. Jessie and 'O,' Blackrock, the chick who liked Skullgrin, Berko and the Spacehikers, etc. Not wholly necessary, but it would be nice to see one of, say, the Spacehikers, grown up and working for pro Autobot legislation or somesuch.

I will never understand the inability of some people to reconcile the earthforce and main stories.

Megatron and Shockwave escaped the Ark's crash, ran around causing trouble, and Grimlock & co had to go on patrol to stop them? The standard answer, but as I recall, it ignores a few things...Sunyavadin wrote:I will never understand the inability of some people to reconcile the earthforce and main stories.

Re: TF81
I'd be pretty peeved if it was 19 issues, but since it's going to be 21 (starting with # 80.5-100) I'm happy.Best First wrote: And how do you feel about the 19 issue run? I'm a little dissapointed its not just a full time ongoing but saying that feels a little churlish at this juncture - does that mean we will get an ending of sorts? More conclusive than TF80?

Yeah, if it sells well they'll try to keep it going. But it also depends on how long Furman wants to write it, also. He could hand it over to Roberts on #101...Yaya wrote:Prediction: It will not end with #81. It will quite possibly outsell the current ongoing(s) and IDW will make it a third ongoing.

Nachos. Lots and lots of Nachos.Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:So, i waited a life time for a continuation and now we have one... and a true ending?
What do people expect at the end?
Then Prime chokes on his victory burrito, proving all conflict leads to but a pyrrhic victory. Plus Megatron gets a cat. Cos he's not all evil.
You know, really layered stuff.

I think Karl IS Simon Furman. This is why he is so wise.Karl wrote:Nachos. Lots and lots of Nachos.Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:So, i waited a life time for a continuation and now we have one... and a true ending?

This is very inappropiate and not relevent to the discussion, but as someone who got bored of IDW TF comics and stopped reading them years ago, I am now very glad I came back here to see if the London people on the site were ok, because not only does everyone indeed seem ok (hope you guys got away with little hassle) but now I've learned about this #81 malarkey.
Oh transfans, you're always the best.

Lovely stuff, guys, especially that last page.
So is it just going to be called "Transformers" in the 1991 lettering style, starting at #81? Or are we going to get "Transformers: War To End All Wars #81?"
