I picked up on my mistake on second viewing, but couldn't be arsed to correct it because half the fun in giving out spoilers is inaccuracy.

I think it could work either way.

Megatron unloads on Sentinel Prime. Sentinel is down.

Megs: We a truce. All I want is to be back in charge. Besides, what would be without me? (You're defined by your enemies, Optimus, and I'm a pretty great enemy).

Optimus: Time to find out (just what I'd be without the constant threat of Megatron and the Decepticons).

I'm sure it's supposed to be the first one, but the second has the added benefits of not having Optimus bury his axe in the head of the dude who just saved his life and asked for a truce. B) Not having Megatron offer a truce to Optimus Prime.

Well, as long as all the other good reasons he has for finishing Megatron there and then (if they'd have gone with the originally scripted ending of Prime letting Megatron go recolonise Cybertron with the Decepticons it would have been very like the last Marvel G1 issue where Bludgeon got to go off into exile despite the Autobots having the clear advantage thanks to act of God. And look how well that worked out in G2), Megatron's kille turned on and betrayed his long term ally. That's not a great advert for "Hey, lets team up" is it?
