I believe that's episode 20, so it's coming up soon.

This may be my favorite animated TF series. I'm not sure I'd be saying that if I hadn't seen most of the previous ones, though...

We're up to Episode 23. We got the introduction of the Starscream clones, and compelling interplay between pretty much the entire main cast.

Episode 24. Somehow, I don't believe that the Autobots would allow a Decepticon to just get towed away to be "stripped for parts and sold at police auction."

Episode 27: Sari, No One's Home

Here's the only thing I can say about this episode. THE AUDIO IS DRIVING ME UP THE ****ING WALL!

Between the unbelievably irritating Constructicon voices, Sari just SCREAMING LIKE MAD, and the perpetual "drinking, slurping, and oil-leaking" sound effects, I'm tempted to just skip to the next episode.

Urgh. Now there's a repeating "beep beep beep beep" sounds effect.

****, even the way they say "OYIL" is pissing me off!

The season ends with A Bridge too Close, possibly my all-time favorite TF 2-parter. There's just so much going on. Even a "Shockwave did it" moment that I refuse to believe was unintentional. :)

Autobots vs Decepticons vs Starscream and the Jets. Oh, and Omega Supreme shows up. And Sari's a robot! And the ending with Megatron and Starscream trapped in space and just bitching at each other? So good!

Predacons Rising. I LOVED this episode! We finally get the conclusion to Wasp's ongoing story. We also get the big payoff to the Optimus/Sentinel/Elita-1 subplot. Oh, and the show's full of Beast Wars homages.

I don't get it. With all the love given to previous incarnations of the Transformers, why are PROWL and JETSTORM completely different from their previous incarnations? They created Bulkhead for this series? Why not give new names to "Prowl" and "Jetfire" as well?

Decepticon Air? Awesome title!

As far as "unlikely cameos" go, I think Grandus is the most unlikely.

Seriously, though. Watch Decepticon Air. Great Transformers cartoon!

Episode 40: This is Why is Hate Machines

Hey look, more Grandus!

MacAddams (old) Oil House. That might be an even deeper cut than Grandus!

The "Cybertronian Snitch" is another great deep-cut! Just, serious REAL fan service in these last few episodes!

It's weird to say, but the most fleshed-out animated incarnation of Jazz is DEFINITELY this version.

Shockwave, too!

Fanzone's arc (more or less) comes to a close here in a very satisfying way.

This is the episode I'd show a TF fan who wasn't really into TF:Animated.

All that's left is the 2-part finale. And then...back to the IDW marathon.

Grandus is in an episode? Man, that's a random shout out.
For now, it seems like IDW wants my money.

Starscream gets a pretty meaningless death. I've heard that he was supposed to resurrected later in the this same episode, but the scene was cut for time.

Final thoughts: This is definitely the best TF series since Beast Wars, but I know that's not really saying much. It pays homage to what came before while still being easily accessible to new (and, probably much younger) viewers. The series wrapped up in a hurry, but did so in a way that tied up pretty much everything. It did leave enough open to allow for follow-ups (in comic or convention-exclusive) form.

It took me all of one episode to adjust to the new art style, but I can't help but feel that if the series had used a more traditional animation style it would have attracted a lot more fans.

As far as TF shows go, with Armada's English dub being a 1 and Beast Wars being a 5, I'd give Animated a 4.5. Well worth watching for any TF fan...and a GREAT introduction to the Transformers for kids.

Totally agree with you, I really enjoyed it and was quite sad when they cancelled after three seasons.

I've never seen it but will check it out on your recommendation. :)
