The duel of nutcases: Megatron vs. Thunderwing

Post by Destron » Wed Feb 23, 2011 11:57 pm

Let's say that Marvel comic is (obviously?) the only continuity we are dealing with here. Moreover, suppose that:

- Megatron is as sane as he's ever been,
- the whole Matrix stuff is out of the picture,
- bringing magic black holes out of nowhere is not an option.

So, under the above stipulations, who's gonna take it?

Shockwave.

Thunderwing is awesome... but Megatron could take him. I'd bet on Megatron taking Scorponok down too actually. Shockwave... easy.

Flame.

Or maybe Macabre. But I don't think he was really a nutcase, tbh.

You need to brush up on your Marvel TF comics. Shockers owned Megs, over and over again.

Death's Head then, given he can murderise Shockwave even when he has a Unicron sized headache.

And don't forget "a fighting mad Optimus Prime"

That wasn't the real shockers.

I stand by my idea that I'm sure was in print on a letters page or text story that Shockers ducked out halfway through and left a facsimile construct in his place.

Lets face it, it goes down quicker then...

insert some sort of slag joke.

Or maybe you do?

Megatron got beaten by Shockwave ....when he was at half-strength... once.

Eh?

Megatron went nuts and blew himself up on a spacebridge because of Shockwave.

Eh?

We're talking about a 'duel'.

Didn't he go nuts and blow up the spacebridge over Prime's stupid death?

Like...

Joking and literally?

Yeah, but it was Shockwave's plan to make Megatron go mad and then blow himself up.

Yaya, we know that you're "ill-equipped in your knowledge of weaponry and the ways of war and killing," but even you must be aware that there was no 'duel' between Shockwave and Megatron during Gone but not Forgotten.

I agree. Shockwave can defeat Megatron without even touching him. :)

Depending on continuity and so on, Megs went toe-to-toe with Galvatron - an upgraded version of himself - twice, and walked away from both encounters. Either Unicron's improvements weren't all that, or Megs is a double hard bastard.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Re Megatron and Galvatron: it's almost as if Galvatron is too powerful. He might be nigh on indestructible and incredibly strong and armed with a frightening level of firepower... but he's also incredibly arrogant (and usually deranged) so doesn't fight with any sort of strategy, plan or discipline in mind.

I'd guess that's how Megatron managed to deal with him each time, Megsy is a reasonable balance between how powerful he is and how powerful he knows he is, whereas Galvatron is very powerful but is also so utterly convinced of his power that he can let an opponent snatch victory: particularly when that opponent is as tough as Megatron!

So on that basis I'd vote Megatron in the Megs Vs. Twing death match. He's powerful but also has some grasp of the limits of his power and still has some level of mental discipline.

As far as this goes, I think Meg would kick Thunderwing's bum, proper.

Galvy and Megs - Galvatron, the guy's a freak.

Altered Image - Galvy takes Megs in 3rd gear.

He can't really kill him though, can he - for obvious reasons.

Doesn't he kick [composite word including 'f*ck'] out of Megatron in T:2006 and bury him alive an all?

After casually letting megatron boom him in the tits with his fusion cannon?
