The duel of nutcases: Megatron vs. Thunderwing

Let's say that Marvel comic is (obviously?) the only continuity we are dealing with here. Moreover, suppose that:
- Megatron is as sane as he's ever been,
- the whole Matrix stuff is out of the picture,
- bringing magic black holes out of nowhere is not an option.
So, under the above stipulations, who's gonna take it?

Yeah, but it was Shockwave's plan to make Megatron go mad and then blow himself up.snarl wrote:Didn't he go nuts and blow up the spacebridge over Prime's stupid death?
Like...
Joking and literally?
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

I agree. Shockwave can defeat Megatron without even touching him.Rebis wrote:Yaya, we know that you're "ill-equipped in your knowledge of weaponry and the ways of war and killing," but even you must be aware that there was no 'duel' between Shockwave and Megatron during Gone but not Forgotten.

Depending on continuity and so on, Megs went toe-to-toe with Galvatron - an upgraded version of himself - twice, and walked away from both encounters. Either Unicron's improvements weren't all that, or Megs is a double hard bastard.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Re Megatron and Galvatron: it's almost as if Galvatron is too powerful. He might be nigh on indestructible and incredibly strong and armed with a frightening level of firepower... but he's also incredibly arrogant (and usually deranged) so doesn't fight with any sort of strategy, plan or discipline in mind.
I'd guess that's how Megatron managed to deal with him each time, Megsy is a reasonable balance between how powerful he is and how powerful he knows he is, whereas Galvatron is very powerful but is also so utterly convinced of his power that he can let an opponent snatch victory: particularly when that opponent is as tough as Megatron!
So on that basis I'd vote Megatron in the Megs Vs. Twing death match. He's powerful but also has some grasp of the limits of his power and still has some level of mental discipline.

As far as this goes, I think Meg would kick Thunderwing's bum, proper.
Galvy and Megs - Galvatron, the guy's a freak.
Altered Image - Galvy takes Megs in 3rd gear.
He can't really kill him though, can he - for obvious reasons.
Doesn't he kick [composite word including 'f*ck'] out of Megatron in T:2006 and bury him alive an all?
After casually letting megatron boom him in the tits with his fusion cannon?
