But I have not read it!!!!
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

[Rises to his feet applauding.]
[Feels a little silly and sits back down.]

DON'T CRACK!

Ok... So...

That preview was unforgivably bad. However, once that stuff's out of the way, the issue's...still not so great.

The 'bots have to stay in vehicle mode to avoid suspicion. So their vehicle modes are outfitted with some really obvious gun mounts. Yes. It would be pretty obvious to anybody that some sports cars and a big-rig are the Autobots who transform into such things, but that's completely ignored. NOBODY will suspect these rocket-launcher covered sports cars! BRILLIANT!

Kim Jong Il basically berates the Combaticons into fighting off his enemies at the border. Needing Kim's energon, the Swindle-less Combaticons are pretty much stuck doing his bidding.

The 'bots force the Combaticons towards the ocean where they're bombarded by Broadside.

Jetfire shows up and gets his ass handed to him by Vortex. Apparently Jetfire's now a just a scientist and not a warrior. (Didn't he kick copious amounts of ass in Stormbringer?) Jetfire crashes into Broadside and Brawl gets away. "He...uh...turned into a tank. We can't stop a tank."

Afterwards, Bumblebee is shown talking to somebody off-panel. He talks about needing help and about how whoever this is could do a lot of good. In the last panel we find out that he's talking to Thundercracker.

The preview for the next issue shows Bumblebee (in robot mode) riding Thundercracker (in jet mode).

Even the Patton Oswalt reference wasn't enough to save this issue.

The best thing I can say about this book is that the Incentive cover is pretty nice.

Did you buy or Byrne-steal, Smooth? Say you just read it in the aisles.

(Actually, I tried to Byrne-steal issue 9, but I couldn't get through it.)

I like where they'er going with this.

NOT!

FFS, it was funny when Mike Myers did it...

In the words of Winston Zeddemore, "that was really stupid"

Hi peeps, I've haven't been around in ages, but this issue motivated me to post again.

It was freaking awful.

Monstercon from Mars looks like a masterpiece when compared to it.

Finally Byrnestole it..

Awards time! Onslaught is this month's Didn't Read the Techspecs of the Weeeeeeeek! Due to be Retcon of the Weeeeeeeek! soon. He'd get a Spotlight, but he's not in the films, so he hasn't got a font. Besides, no Spotlights soon. Gonna be a while on that reprint of Prowl, kids.

As everyone cares about the humans the mostest, Prime, oops, I mean BB has been forming Focus Groups where lots of Autobots sit and talk face to face about dull stuff for pages and pages, as this is what Autobots like to do bestest. It seems they got a letter from a little boy, who writes -
'Dear Uncle Bumbly, 'The big three in Detriot' are miffed that car sales are down due to big robots that turn into cars trying to take over the world. Can you fix it for me to stabilise the American Economy? IN DISGUISE. Love, Spike.'
Prime, oops, I mean BB, has decided that everyone should look less like currently produced cars, and so his crack commandos have again graciously decided to alter their Altmodes so they can look like old versions of cars so as not to have it impact as much on the Great American Economy. Well, Nissan and Porche. Jetfire has decided to be more proactive by sticking it to Korea by looking like a cheap boxy knockoff of a Robotech toy - thus hitting Kimmy where it really hurts - his wallet! Damn, that 'Bot's brainy.

Of course, due to this, Jetfire gets the Clever = Massive Wussy achievement unlocked. Baytastic! Hopefully he can meet up with Dourifto and he can teach him how to do a DDT and a Stone Cold Stunner soon. Ultimo Dragonzord taught Drift how to wrestle on a planet full of Space Wrestlers. IN SPACE. So you know it's good.

Now, they're all Nostagic and stuff, they have to have guns put in the big holes on top of their roofs and the like. However, they're less effective than the previous hidden guns they all have. I guess this is due to modern health and safety having downgraded the springs inside. Or maybe they lost some missiles. I lost some of the missiles. All in all, this plan was massively ineffective and just ended up damaging them. This brought about fond memories of the last time they fought like this, which was of course against Wolverine and Captain Boobs. Ratchet shoved his airbag in her face. Heehee. Airbags.

Editorial Schmuck-Ups of the Weeeeeeeeek! - CLIFF's coloured as Smokey, which was obvious enough for me to notice while skimreading it in the store. They'll probably fix it in the trade, like they did in Megatron Origin with the Dinobots and Predacons. Also, 'customers' went through the Word Spellchecker as 'costumers'. Damn you Word Spellchecker! I wish you weren't Head Editor.

Good bits? Um, Broadside as a boat was kinda nice. He did a broadside and everything. Then some cars moved an entire boat and a crashed giant futureplane into a warehouse without anyone transforming or telling the President about WMDs. Oooh! Or that dude who used the crane moved them. All on his own. Continuity!

Can we get The 'Bee's soundchip to stop saying 'I'm the Leader!' every five minutes. It didn't pass for leadership when we played Transformers in the playground, It don't now. Am still split over Spike's idea that IN DISGUISE! means that everyone looks G2 down to having their names and in Prime's case, a list of previous addresses written on them. Is it better than having their Japanese issue numbers on them or not? Vanity plates mildly makes more sense, than stuff referencing their toys... Should I be caring about Easter Eggs? Should I be caring about Transformers comics at 33? Mike? Andy? Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

In conclusion, I would totally read 'Cliffjumper and Campoglignognog's Amazing DVD Night In'. I reckon that'd be dead good.
"Is it true that there is a point on a robot's head where if you shoot it, it will blow up?"
"Ask Guzzle."

Luckily, everything is going to be absolutely flipping awesome soon!

Just not this issue.

Nor this TPB, by the looks of things.

"Forget it Kinf... It's Transformers."
*unloads entire clip into the air* ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

You could do both. But then you'd have fewer posts to applaud. Decisions...

Do antipsychotics help against sub par writing and contrived plots?

If so, I'll have a triple dosage please :p

I don't do drugs. They get in the way of the hallucinations. Ta for the offer, though!

Same day I read that ongoing, I also read a perfectly jolly little story about Blazemaster that harked back to his techs and his 'was a 'Con in Dreamwave' 1/2 second of fame, with a little chase and some 'sploshions that was lots of fun in the Brit kids comic. And all in 8 pages too.
Sort it out, IDW.

Or at least give away free frisbees. That might help.

This weekend, when I picked up my comics, I went to my hotel room, and read Deadpool, The Authority, then decided to sit back, relax, and enjoy a bit of Transformers.

So, I re-read Shattered Glass.
Brilliant read. at least 8/10
The most disappointing thing, was after reading it. When I realised that not only was it better written than the current ongoing seems to be (Stopped reading it a while back but I grab the odd copy from friends and read the reviews here) but it also has far more respect or established continuity.

EVIL GOATEE UNIVERSE HAS MORE RESPECT FOR ESTABLISHED CONTINUITY.

Yes but it is deliberately doing that to ruin your enjoyment of the ongoing.

edit - i mean further ruin your enjoyment of the ongoing, obviously
