Thunderwing posted that on Bottalk a week or so ago. Its brilliance is without parallel. It's perfect in every way. Even the Japanese (and the fake Japanese "Bot-tosai") is flawless. Seriously, there's nothing NOT to like about it. Even the poster's name (Thunderwing) is awesome. I mean, I can say, "Thunderwing is awesome," and damn near everyone would agree with me, even without the comic.
Bravo, Thunderwing, Bravo!

When I met Ryall two years ago, I asked him why IDW didn't publish a TF spoof comic, as I thought it would be a hit. This was the time Hearts of Steel came out, and I thought if they could go with that, they could sure as hell make a comic poking fun at the Transformers. I felt after two decades of being serious, the property earned the right to get spoofy.
He didn't think so.
I still do.

"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

This is pretty damn good, by ALL accounts. Half the jokes indicate that Thunderwing seems to (SHOCK!) actually know a bit about the characters he's writing about! And gives them some personality whilst alluding to past foibles and events! Can a writer even DO that? And in only twenty-odd panels per episode? Shurley shome mishtake?
However, he seems to think that Wyndstarr being trained by the 14th member of the 13 is some kind of gag at Drift's expense. That's not a gag! Shane had that all planned out. Drift IS the 14th member of The 13!
In AHM after that bit when Drift knew Mirage was invisible because being able to see invisible robots is one of the ways of the samurai as written in that book in Ghost Dog, Prowl and Kup have a natter, and there's this one panel where Percy is checking out Brock 'Cliffjumper' Samson's zipgun zapgun and there's 13 TF's on panel. But no Drift. Hmmmn. We must look to the teachings of the elders and repeat our mantra. 'Where's Drift? Where's Drift?' Ah, Grasshopper. He is always with us, but there is meaning in all things, hidden as it is - as hidden as our favourite TF! Drift IS the 14th! And maybe the 23rd as well AT THE SAME TIME. He's multiversally delicious!
See, plain as daylight. The reading was in the text all along. Thanks Shane!
Man. I got to stop reading the IDW Forum...
