who's yours? mine, personally, are Depth Charge and Dinobot2. imo, they're the biggest "bad asses" of the series. both of them have killer robot/ alternate modes, and the attitudes to match!

Favorite Maximal: Dinobot (sometimes wish he'd have slagged Rattrap)
Favorite Predacon: Waspinator (tied in my mind with Skybyte not just as the best Predacons of all time, but among the best TFs all time)

For Maximal it's almost a tie between Optimus Primal and Dinobot.. ....almost. I'm going with Dinobot. While there were times I couldn't relate with his words or actions, there were more times I could. It was like Wolverine (at least back when I used to collect X-Men) in that there was the character that actually said and did what you always wanted to in situations. I love dinosaurs too. ^_^

For a Pred, hmm, gee, toughy. Waspy was lovable and humerous unintentionally, the soldier like commitment of Inferno to "the Colony!" was always nice, Black Arachnia was...well.....Black Arachnia which was enjoyable, the T-Spider was always enjoyable in his crafty ways, etc, so on and so forth... .....Megatron. I'm saying Megatron. The concept, character, and the like were awsome. He was a kick-arse leader for a bad guy, and it's nice to see the villian come so close to victory (sometimes actually achieving goals!). The personality and tyrancy are award-winning. Viva El Megatron!

BlackArachnia and Megatron. Failing that, BlackArachnia and Silverbolt. BlackArachnia remains the finest evil spider robot woman on television.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Maximal: His characteristic kinda reminda me of myself at times, bold but yet concerned about his comrades.

Predacon:Quickstrike. Just something about his style I really dig.

I find Silverbolts naive positivity against overhwhelming odds endearing :)

and of course its Megatron, best bad guy villain ever.

Silverbolt and Blackarachnia, the only two original characters of the show (OK, maybe Rattrap too).

Maximal: Dinobot. But i also have to give a shout out to slow, mythodic Rhinox, there was just something about him, or maybe it was just the dirsty great chain gun he had.

predacon: Waspinator, okay he's pure comedy entertainment, but that's why.

This is a difficult one as I've found I like all the Maxi's and Preds (still not sure about Terrorsaur but I thought Scorponok was great!). Even in Quickstrike (who people seem to have a downer on) I found some great stuff. It takes time to like Quickstrike though. So....hmmm...it'd probably have to be Inferno, Waspinator or Megatron for the Preds and Rhinox, Rattrap and Optimas for the Maximals....arggghh but how could I forget Turantulas? Or Silverbolt? Or....oh damn! Looks like I love them all:)

Predacons: Rampage. Homicidal mass-murdering canibal, says it all I believe. (Didn't choose Ravage, cause I kinda still see him as Decepticon. But indeed, his cunning guile and stealth pawned MEGS!! Bwahahaha! I love when that happens.)

Maximal: Ooch! :o Me loveth the Optimus Prime/Optimus Primal fusion in season 3, (Too bad he couldn't have kept the spark for a longer period, but then the Beast Wars might have ended prematurely, really! )
But there's one Maximal with the greatest power and one of the biggest underused potential(s) in history, TIGERHAWK. I mean, he's so rediculously powerful! He shows up, and beats the living day-lights out of everyone! EVERYONE! Hehehe, even the mighty TM2-Megs was pawned. Plus, he's a fusion of Tigatron and Airrazor. Wich is cool, cause Tigatron's acctually a cool character, he's got a rather unique ideology for a Transformer. :)

Oh come on, Tigatron is an arse, his whole anti war rant has been done a million times. Airazor was a useless bint who spent more time being shot out of the sky than doing anything usefull.

Tigerhawk was awesomio though :)

No. He's one of the sanest of the Maximals really.
his whole anti war rant has been done a million times.
That only happened after a few circumstances that wasn't very pleasant, and why shouldn't he be anti-war?

He was born into the Beast Wars, more an animal than robot, and now he's forced to participate in it just because the only crime he did was to exist. It surprises me how comfortable some of the other Maximals is in combat, considering they weren't even warriors to begin with.

And if anyone wonders, my love for Tigatron stems from the Botcon Wreckers comic, where really, his Transmetal-form kicked butt. Hihi, :D the little half-pint's got the power to waporise a TF trice his size.
Airazor was a useless bint who spent more time being shot out of the sky than doing anything usefull.

Hmm..yes I will agree to that she was the least the least fleshed out character. I'm sure she could have been put to good use tho. Her partially un-returned romantic(?) infatuation with Tigatron could perhaps have been explored further.
Tigerhawk was awesomio though :)
That's right. And don't you forget it.
