Shockingly, I enjoyed watching ROTF last night...

Over the last 25 years the Transformers have appeared in media from the exquisite to the scribbled and been licensed to the responsible and the... Pat Lee. Discussion of all the branches of TF media within!

Thanks to those lovely people at Rifftrax.

They really highlight how monumentally idiotic that entire film is.

I honestly can't think of a single good bit anywhere, it's like an unending string of childish toilet humour, interspersed with copulating canines, non-euclidean geography, and the worst acting I've seen since Battlefield Earth.

Not to mention it being about as racially sensitive as Song of the South.

But yeah. They ought to pull all the DVDs from shelves and release it with the Rifftrax version dubbed over it as default.

I find it very entertaining in at least a couple of moments, of course especially in the Forest Battle.

It's quite depressing, really.

Ever since I was twelve years old, I had been wishing that the world could share in the joy I was experiencing with Transformers, hoping and yearning for the kind of exposure and success a Batman or Superman might bring.

Then, it happens. The movie becomes the number one money-making movie of the year and in but a week becomes the number one-selling DVD in the country.

And how do I feel about it? Like crap. Like my childhood is being raped over and over.

So ironic, it hurts.

Thanks to Bay, a guy who doesn't know the first damn thing about who or what the Transformers really are. He just takes the license and runs with it for a touchdown.

Seriously, a live-action TF film would have been equally successful in the hands of any other director. He just happened to be the one who took that chance.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

I feel your pain. People who know I like and collect TFs come to me and say "hey, I saw Transformers and man you have been right to say this stuff is good"! And my head is about to burst, and they are shocked when I tell them that **** they watched has about as much to do with Transformers as the "Alone in the Dark" movie had to do with the source material game.

Btw, have you seen this? ROTF gets the "How it should have ended" treatment...
