Beast Wars II / Neo

Post by Legion » Mon May 04, 2009 6:44 pm

Seeing Ultrasabre's thread about RID reminded me. I've had a nosey around but can't seem to find any mention of a DVD release of BWII/Neo outside of Japan. Seeing as they went to the bother with the subbed Headmasters/Masterforce/Victory set, I thought they might have done something with these as well...
Any info anyone?

Unfortunately, no. :(

The only BWII and Neo vids I know of are bad quality TV records - and only around 13 episodes of BWII are subtitled.

A pity, I like BW2 - it's like watching a Transformers parody. That show never takes itself seriously, and has some hilarious characters from the Mexican sterotype Tripledacus brothers to "Roger Moore" Scuba and effeminate japanese villain stereotype Starscream. And don't forget Thrust and Dirge who are what the Battlechargers should have been on cartoon. Oh and BB... "Roger!" is all he says, but the WAY he says it. He's like Mourn from DS9.

At the moment Sony Japan have a very tight grip on the rights to Beast Wars II & Neo and I think TVLoonland are still trying to get the rights from them so they can plan a proper DVD release.

So far though no luck, so expect no release from the Japanese Beast wars for a while.

I would have assumed that Beast wars II & Neo would be released when the 10th anniversary of Beast Wars came along. Sadly nope.
