It's probably because RiD never got a US DVD release. Nor did Headmasters, Masterforce, Victory or Zone, now that I think about it.

Weird, huh?

Not really missing much to be honest. With the exception of Masterforce (which has its moments), they're ******* awful.

I thought the episodes featuring Ultra Magnus were great.

To be honest, I like Magnus's car carrier mode in RID than in other incarnations of Transformers.

Magnus's vehicle mode in RiD is rather awesome. As a matter of fact the reason I joined up today is because I traded in my PEZ collection for RiD Optimus and put Magnus on layaway at the local collectible toy store. I had them when I was a kid and was so excited to see them, so I just knew I had to have them! I've been converting and unconverting them constantly for the past few days and just started watching RiD on youtube. Seeing as they were never released on DVD here I feel less bad about my "piracy." I was getting a little fed up with the series becaus every single episode the Autobots predictably won etc, but I just watched the episode where the Decepticons come in. I was very pleased as the Predacons were getting on my nerves. Seriously who named/designed these guys? What does "Slapper" even have to do with being a toad? I sort of like Skybite but it's a love/hate kind of thing. Anyway I've decided to collect all the toys from this series I can and am looking forward to seeing where the story goes!

In conclusion a couple of questions:

1. How come Skid-Z got his own episode but then they pretty much forgot about him? I know he's pretty much a palette swap of Mirage, but he's got personality! maybe he comes back in later episodes, but like I said I'm glad they've been introducing new characters. Prowl's a bit prudish, Sideburn's a little TOO obsessed with the red sports cars, and the fact they made Ironhide into a redneck is totally lame. (Except he calls people 'hoss' once in a while, which I greatly enjoy.)

2. What episode does Magnus show up? Just looking for a number here.

3. Does the girl who serves as comic relief have a name? I really look forward to her appearances, they're one of my favorite parts of the show!

4. How come Prowl is easily lost by people he's chasing? It makes no sense! He's a cussed police car! Why doesn't he just turn on his sirens and lights and make everyone move out of the way like a real police officer!? (I know the police force has as little power as it does purpose in Japan, but surely this isn't accurate is it?)

Not a slam. Just, I believe, Professor Smooth giving you a patented Smooth Beer, Made Smooth By Smooth.

My entire exposure to Robots In Disguise came in that 4-page Dreamwave story. I haven't had the urge to seek it out, since I've heard that the quality is generally lower than even Armada's cartoon.

I knew he was welcoming me sincerely, not I'm glad I understand it better thought :) Anyway, yeah. RiD isn't really that great with all its bad puns, overused animations, horrid CG, and worst of all, the "Street Fighter Syndrome" where EVERYTIME ANYONE does ANYTHING they have to say it. Sometimes it's okay but heaing the Predacons yell, "Left Laser!" "Right Laser!" "Center Laser!" gets old fast. Like it's so bad that one time Skybyte is trying to transform back into robot mode but he can't because he is holding something in his mouth and he can't say "Transform." Not to mention sometimes the Autobots just seem to stand by and watch things happen. But regardless, I'm still very much enjoying it and have no idea why. As for Armada, it was the first time Transformers had been on TV to my knowledge ever since G1 (was NOT as into it then, but nonetheless) and I got turbo excited and rushed through my homework so I could watch it when it premiered, and was crushed. It was AWFUL. I popped in the movie to make myself feel better. :)

Just finished watching RiD

I just finished the series, and I was overall satisfied. Despite total cheesiness and bad puns throughout, I kept watching it, and in the end it turned out pretty cool I guess. Nice to expand my TF knowledge anyway. :D

I just got a used VHS tape of the Ultimate Doom at the Goodwill.

We're kind of like soulmates.

I watched some really low-res rips of Car Robots back before it got translated. I had no clue what was going on, but it was awesome.

I've still not seen RiD, despite having it on DVD. Part of me's scared that it won't be as good when I understand it.
