Heh, same deal with my mom, she'd kill me if she knew how much I have already spent on TF toys and comics so far...

So, spoilers? FRom the previews, I liked the art.

Another uneven issue, but I consider it a step up from the last two issues. While there were several 'guh' moments (Optimus' disbelief, the Council's about face), I thought that the attack at the end makes up for it, and it looks like Megatron will finally get back into the game directly, so yay. I'm not sure if I like Milne's art yet. Ask me again in a week when I've had time to mull it over.

Hmm, I enjoyed it. Much better than 25, and just slightly off of 24's goodness.

Kicker ain't dead tho. Remember he appears in the summer special.

Pros

Alexis is dead! Well hopefully. Not because of some petty "I hate kids" nonsense, but simply because it might actually lend this series some gravitas.

Jetfire talks!

Omnicons weren't annoying! I actually laughed a bit at their dialogue! "Who's this? Someone else we ticked off in a former body?"

Mirage and Slugslinger. Decepticons with attitude are so nice.

Milne draws Prowl like a badass.

Cons

OMFG the council is a collective group of dumbasses. Who appointed these bozos?

Milne can't draw Alexis and Rad for ****.

Sometimes Prime and company looked great and crisp, other times things kinda fell apart. Dunno whether that's the inking or Milne. (Then again Elaine To was inking and frankly she knows what she is doing)

Who are those bodies on the walls of the chamber where Megatron and Prime talk? One looks like Scourge.

Gravitas is from TWW....

And I guess Hasbro wouldn't want Alexis killed... though I can't see how she survived.

Ozz - those were yellow G1 Cyclonuses Uni was creating. There is a clearer pic of them in #22.

I liked the issue. It somhow felt short, but now I'm really looking forward to #27.

Who else thinks Mirage and Slugslinger are there to kidnap Kicker, in case OP needs a little 'persuading' to help their new boss, Megatron?

i'm sure Kicker aint dead, but as a poit of fact the Summer Special Armada story exists 'outside regular continuity' according to the note on the into page, so doesn't really tell us owt.

I liked this one. Both script and art are doing it for me. I have only one niggle with each - Mirage coming out of nowhere (woulda been nice to see where/why he got the new body) and Milne can't draw humans. I liked the rest.

Well, given that the general consensus is that we like it, who wants to go out on a limb with me and say this story might signal an upward trend for Energon?

hrrm - not convinced.

Milne seems to be yet another artist who is good at drawing pin ups, but his composition, layouts etc aren't great. Not terrible, but not great. Most of DW's artists just don't have any sense of cinema, which is a shame when you are drawing giant robots from space.

I suspect Pat Lee being in charge has a lot to do with this. Its a real shame.

On top of that we still have to deal with their aversion to proper inking and the rather childish covers they seem to insist on using in Energon.

Don and Wildman aside i thunk DW's artistic output is pretty shambolic, ironic as its what they seem to pride themselves on most (aim for plot next time...)

Plotwise this issue was promising in terms of later issues, but as an issue itself stuttered a bit.

Maybe if they brought back Raiz. But yeah, Furman destroying several Earth cities and landmarks seems to be a signal of upward trend for him. Remember the Decep fight in New York between Scorponok and Shockwave? And then the blowing apart of San Francisco in G2?

I'm hoping for an upward trend. At least this series is easy to follow.

Raiz should without a shadowof a doubt be regular penciller IMO.
