Rewriting AHM

Over the last 25 years the Transformers have appeared in media from the exquisite to the scribbled and been licensed to the responsible and the... Pat Lee. Discussion of all the branches of TF media within!

Rewriting AHM

Post by Jack Cade » Mon Jan 12, 2009 10:39 am

Just looking at this retooling of issue one by Raptor718, which does rather demonstrate how easy it is to give AHM more life. I still don't think the characterisation of Starscream quite fits in with the -ations, but I like "These skies belong to us!" and Skywarp's 'Infiltration never was my style' - much better lines than McCarthy has given either of them.

Is it possible, do you think, to use this method to rewrite AHM into something truly credible? Failing that, I'd love to see someone do a comedy version.

I think the comedy version is the one people have been shelling out for every month already.

"Failing that, I'd love to see someone do a comedy version."

Damn, if any sentence sat up beautifully for a sweet volley into the bottom corner it was that one. Well played spiderfrommers.

To be honest, the rewrite someone posted on here (if the same one) is like plastering over shot plaster. It's still ****** underneath the cover-up job in that the story still is ultimately dull, predictable and cliche.

No amount of cool lines can clean it up IMHO.

I certainly think it could be improved upon.

But ultimately just rewriting the speech bubbles is not going to get you away from the vapid pacing (i'm assuming that this is what has been done, not looked at the file).

I think if you condensed it fairly massivley, showed a lot more of what is happening elsewhere and dumped some clunky concepts such as cutting off New York being a tactical masterstroke then the notion of some kind of leak crippling the 'bots and sending the 'con cause into overdrive might be the start of an interesting status quo change.

Comedy on the other hand would be quite easy...

I considered just ripping off the AHM covers and sticking them on Rhythms of Darkness.

C-Display is the most commonly used.

Alternatively, you can unzip the file like you would a normal .rar file, and then just read each page as an individual JPEG.

Not sure how to view this. (i'm computer illeterate)

Any suggestions that are easy that don't require downloading programs?
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

That is easily the most entertainment AHM has offered. Bravo.
