Nothing anyone has said to me on an internet board has ever truly pissed me off. Y'know, perspective is a wonderful thing.

Of course, some recent TF comics have made me want to punch babies, but thats different.

His emails to me were also fairly amusing - he started off imploring me to 'do the decent thing' and finished off being abusive.

Also after being so appalled at a slight of character he then accused me of ripping off content from another site.

Do we even have content?

My one shot at glory, in years, and here I miss out on the whole bloody thing...

I thought there was spoilers in the thread...

Am I right in thinking there was a bit of premature condemnation of Richter tho? Seemed like it was a bit unnecessary. I mean, he seems like a right and proper bloke in most of the normal ways, and what little I saw of his posts, he tried to meet his critics as calmly and rationally as he could.

And who WOULDN'T take the chance at contributing to a TF-comic?? I mean fook! I think almost everyone here would have taken the shot, regardless of how well we actually really thought we would have done the job.

I'll be looking forward to the one-shot, 'cause my curiousity is certainly picked.

You're being very Pred-ish lately, Preds.

Criticism of Richter boiled down to what I thought were a few good points:

1) Never been all that impressed with his Mosaics. There are better Mosaics out there, so if IDW is searching for talent with them, why not court someone like Drivaaar whose Mosaics were better received?

2) The IDW board right now is encouraging sycophantism (see the banning of Jack and constant presence, despite numerous insults and flame wars, of Skwege and Dogbite). Since Richter's a mod, he's at least partially responsible for the atmosphere over there, so it looks like S: J is a reward for promoting company sucky-uppy.

3) Finding writing talent among the fans is always a dodgy proposition. Given the constant dangerous situation the sales of the IDW comics are in, it seems far more effective for IDW to court talent who other comics fans have heard of, thus drawing in those same fans. (Barring Shane McCarthy, that is.)

HOWEVER

I think we're all in agreement that Richter is a nice guy and has every chance to prove us wrong with this Spotlight.

Now quit talking with that bloody arse-mangling cockney!
