Secret Bad Guy does generally go very well with Self Insertion Character.

Drift would be almost as much a let down as Mirage, as it would be predictable.

Also, it's actually a good thing he's going to be a toy. That way, they won't use him as that new red shirt hero type that sacrifices himself at the end, never to be seen again, ala Scrounge or Impactor. That also would be predicatable.

Yeah, because no toy character's only ever wracked up one sole story appearance...

The Rotorbots would like to have a word with 'ya... :)

At least with Simon, you can know no-one is "safe". As TWW 3 showed us, not even Grimlock... :ididit:

I have a feeling he tends to visit TFU.INFO or COBRAISLANDTOYS, clicks on a random letter and says "OK, I'm going to kill YOU in the next issue".

With McCarthy, I just KNOW Mirage is going to be the traitor. The guy's writing is more predictable then Mad BRick.

That, or Shockwave did it...

(Shiver)......Sorry, found that "NNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" Magnus bit so annoying. Almost like that seen in Revenge of the Sith when Darth Vader does the same thing, and everybody in the theatre dies laughing.

Besides, we knew Grimlock wasn't dead because he's alive and well in Vol. 1 and 2 in the future.

And Brad Mick killed off Jetfire, Sunstorm, the Aerialbots, Octane Sandstorm, etc.
With McCarthy, I just KNOW Mirage is going to be the traitor.
That would be so freakin lame if it turned out to be true.

Who the **** are the Rotorbots?
He means Rotor Force.

Having toys didn't stop Leadfoot or Manta Ray being offed in their IDW outings.
BB wrote:That, or Shockwave did it...
He already did. Shockers is effectively responsible for all of it anyway.

I think we've stumbled across the reason you rate DW and AHM so highly...

I enjoyed Marvel for Budiansky's early G1 run to about #25 and all of Simon's run, including his G2 series. I really wish I had access to Furman's UK stuff then. What I did get a chance to read, I loved, like Target 2006.

I enjoyed DW for the G1 stuff, War Within (except "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!"), that kickass G.I.Joe/TF crossover, and of course, MTMTE.

I enjoy IDW for Infiltration thru Revelations, most of the Spotlights, and the last two or three issues of AHM.

I think all three companies, in retrospect, have given more good than bad.

Even DW naysayers have to admit there were things to like.

For example, MTMTE, where individual Micromasters get a profile, is something I don't think I ever would have dreamed possible. Jae Lee's art on the G.I. Joe/TF crossover was incredible.

Where did I have the most fun with TF comics? Hands down Budiansky's early run and Simon's late G1 and G2 run. Probably because I was more of kid then than I am now.

How bout you? What have you liked?

You read G2 and you don't know who the Rotorbots were? Better read that again... :) Granted, they are Rotorcons mostly, changing allegiance in the last issue.

Sorry for the error btw - I heard them called Rotorbots instead of Rotor Force so often, I thought that was an official name...

TF Comics - well, pretty much the same as your preferences. Plus Marvel UK... first few issues were nothing special (though Ravage has a nice scene in Enemy Within) but it all goes uphill from "wrath of Guardian". Guess Racthet and old Grimmers weren't on friendly terms back then as well...

I finally read this. I... I...

There are no words.

IDW is totally determined to reboot from scratch. All they had to do was have Jazz say to Kup, "Oh yeah? I heard you've been out of your head. Went down on a mission a while ago and never really came back."

Nope. No acknowledgment of Spotlight: Kup.

I didn't want to really drop this. But I'm going to have to. There was never any reason to care about the military characters and now we've got another one we don't have to care about.

This is so stupid! Why would IDW do something that would so completely alienate all their loyal fans?

Have any of you read Furmans answers to the Q&A they did over at IDW? No communication at all between writers. Infact, if I read it right, I get the distinct impression SF isn't impressed with AHM, the format, and the Editorial work...

That interview really made me question some of the praise I've thrown towards the series. I had the idea that, no matter how things looked now, there'd be an explanation for why everything is radically different. That's looking increasingly less likely.

That's a shame, really. If IDW would just say that this was not happening in the main TF universe, I'd have zero problems with it. I'm enjoying it on it's own. But if it's really just poorly inserted into the existing fiction, it's kind of off-putting.

Think of it this way.

I like fugu. Fugu is great, especially if it's prepared right. I'll happily spend about 10,000 yen for a nice fugu meal in Mojiko.

Sometimes, though, I just want a big juicy Hamburger. That's when I'll pop into a Freshness Burger or a Mos Burger and pick up a burger and fries. Also good.

However, if my fugu meal included a hamburger course or my sack of Freshness burger had fugu on it, I'd be less than pleased. Fugu's good. Burgers are enjoyable. Combined, though, not so great. A reverse-gestalt, if you will.

these food analogys are all good, but I think we're bering a bit kind to AHM.

A more realistic comparisson would be like spending a bit too much time eating a massive, pretty good cake that there's the odd bit of guff in that you're not sure about and has been sat on at the end a bit and squashed into its box...

compared with basically...

Peter North spaffing in your face, slyly laughing whilst shouting eat it you mucky bitch, you know you love it - in multiple camera, super-slowmo. And HiDef

The worrying thing for me... is that some of you thought... "Hey, that wasn't so bad!"

Don't sweat it. I actually had to check the Wiki to find out they weren't actually called that. I was gonna go with just a link to the page, but opted to set-up for a snide "never read G2 then?" inference. :)

First learned about fugu from The Simpsons, of all places. That episode where Homer just wolfed it down without letting the chefs prepare it. Hehe. Memories.

Yep, awesome episode. especially when he finally spends time with Grandpa. :)

After reading Simon's Q/A, I can totally feel that he's starting to get frustrated. The mere fact that his last blog update was in october just tells you that.
And Simon often referring to his other projects does not bode well for us either... what if he decides to quit IDW after being so neglected/confined?

Who said anything about him quitting Transformers? As far as I know, he's still writing for Titan's UK magazine.

I'm just saying he keeps mentioning Terminator and his other, non-TF projects far more often then usual. Though that's understandable - he doesn't have much room to maneuver a good story in at IDW anymore. :(

I'm sure even he must ask himself at times "What the hell more can I do with the Transformers?"

Plus, every time he's got the keys to the ship (G1/G2/IDW), they pull the rug out from under him right when he gets to the good s***.

After his adaptation of TFTM a few years back, I certainly hope he's found employment outside the realm of TF fiction.

It's a sig. I didn't feel like resizing it, but I couldn't help putting it up. More tea, Mr. Fuzzles? It's like Joss Whedon's brainwash arc--the BEST thing ever. "I've claws, you know."

You do know it's more than slightly over the size limits, and dominates the browser window at the most common screen resolutions.
