I missed EJ

Over the last 25 years the Transformers have appeared in media from the exquisite to the scribbled and been licensed to the responsible and the... Pat Lee. Discussion of all the branches of TF media within!

I missed EJ

Post by sprunkner » Thu Jun 05, 2008 4:22 am

Guy was supposed to be signing his new "How to Draw Robots" book at Book Expo America last weekend. There I was, a one-man line, and he never showed.

Sad. I probably could have wrangled a free copy out of him.

If you're out there, EJ, my heart hurts.

I was at the booth around 11:45am on Saturday. I was supposed to be there 11:30, but I couldn't find "Impact Books" booth, took me awhile to figure out they were under F+W Publishing. I am sorry that I've missed you, we were probably just missed each other.

Yeah, I think I had a meeting at 11:45. The book looked fantastic, btw.

You ever thought of doing children's books?

Thanks. it's my first book, please let me know if there's anything that you think the book could be improved upon. Hopefully there's a chance for more books in the future.

I'd love to do children's book, but I never got a chance to do it.

I'll keep my ear to the ground. I do graphic novels at a literary agency, and kid-related stuff is in pretty high demand at Scholastic right now with the success of the colored Bone books.

Cool thanks!

So you were there on business then? I had no idea there were a colorized Bone book. We are talking about Bone by Jeff Smith right?

Yeah, it's all done in these beautiful watercolor washes. Check the kids' section at the bookstore instead of the graphic novel section.

Well, it's not like there's a lot of Transformers for me to do anyways. ;)
