According to Nelson (Bay's website admin) , it is legit, but will NOT be used.

Must say... I'm not really liking this either. Better then the first one's story, but while that one was a mostly human-centered comedy with brief TF action, this one is a 2 hour long robot slugfest with very minimal character interaction (which is what a TF movie should be about, anyway). They are pretty much copying the SW triology with this, btw, as in the second part the 'bad guys' win.
There are huge masses of nameless TF soldiers which would be pretty expensive to produce in CGI, unless they'll use similar-body shaped drones like the TF Game did.
New characters include Hot Rod, who is now a Wolverine - like 'rogue warrior' and pretty much is introduced to replace Prime by part 3. as far as I can see...
Soundwave is a Megatron loyalist who wants to revive him, and also as a distributor of sound energy is considered a healer of sorts, more like a priest or even a small god (HUH?!

Ultra Magnus... is just there, carrying cars, at least he has his old alt. mode.
Devastator appears ona roadway and NOT in the middle of Vegas, wasted opportunity... is taken out fast anyway.
Starscream is crowned king (whoa the originality of it!

Prime is indebted to Spi... er Sam to protect Mikaela so he sends his soliders into battle saying "Protect her with your life!" Great leadership, Prime... He has the Matrix btw. which is retconned to give sentience to TFs while the Allspark gives life only, and of course Megs wants to put it into hsi own chest (and succeeds too, in a fashion very similar to G2's events).
None of the first movie's other Autobots are mentioned by name... except BB, who doesn't do much but play Sam's car. From the Cons,Scorponok returns though.
The Nemesis is introduced, and in an intersting turn it sinks an aircraft carrier and takes its shape. (btw off topic, what do they call those ships that's shorter to write then aircraft carrier? Flattops? Motherships?)
Sam, Mikaela and agent Simmons return. New humans include an old geezer from S7 who retired and oversees Vegas, and Sam's stereotypical Asian roommate. Thankfully humans feature less then in the first movie and there are no painfully "humorous" scenes like BB pissing on the agents, but then again it's a very early script.
All in all, if this indeed gets made into a movie, it'll be an interesting action flick with lots of explosions and we might see some classics characters reinvented Bayformer style getting killed off as hi-then-die nameless Bots and Cons, that's all we can expect. Though, given Bay's shaky camera, we probably won't even be able to make out who is who. Not very good story, but a bit better then the first one, although also a bit bland.
Btw - Bay even makes a cameo as a "rich and famous action movie director" whose Ferrari Hot Rod scans and copies....
