Gobots and Transformers
Post

As Bandai was bought out by Hasbro, characters from the Gobots universe have appeared in both the Dreamwave and IDW comics. (Cykill was killed by Megatron etc)
Although The Gobots were (for me) by far the inferior toyline, if you had the chance to write a Transformers comic strip, would you use any charaters from the Gobot universe? Maybe as cannon-fodder if nothing else?
I always thought that Baron Von Joy was pretty cool, could have been wasted in a huge battle???

Even the worst experiences can become good ones. Just make sure that you learn from them!

I probably would use ALL of them. Using designs similar to their toys... and kill the
LOT of them!
Goddamn Gobots....

Mass slaughter would be cool. I could see Megatron kill Scooter most violently haha!!!! Maybe decapitation with his bare hands and Leader one would suffer a most violent death

In my opinion it'd be hard... the Go-bots on average look so different than (at least the original) Transformers. (And much, much lamer)
I found a hilarious youtube video that spliced in the Go-Bots getting killed by Unicron.

i find it a bit fanwanky to be honest - its kind of like gloating. I also think it has already been done too many times as it is.
Plus i agree about the designs not fitting well.

I think the most interesting set up would be:
Transformers: Robots that turn into Vehicles.
Go Bots: Vehicles invented by humans that turn into Robots.
The Autobots could stumble upon these Go-Bots on a secret military installation, or slaving in some hidden production facility. What appears to be only cars are in fact robots created by humans, made to work like dogs, their own robotic sentience squashed. Optimus Prime could even rethink his rosy view of humanity.
Sprinkle with some cliche allegorical scenes, mix 2 cups old ST:TNG scripts, and BAM, you've got yourself A Very Special Transformers Story.
