Is that the "Welsh on a Deal" / "complete works gigabyte" DVD or has anything been added/revised?

Hey Denyer, one other thing about the book, is it an action book with strong narrative and characters, or is it one of those long Sillmarillion esque tomes with nothing but the discussion of obscure deities?

Stu - I think it's the one you're thinking of. Nothing added or revised yet, as far as I can tell.

Banzai-Tron - it's a page-turner, put it that way! The characters are very much to the fore, but the narrative rarely suffers for it.

it sounds awesome, could you guys spread the word that I'm looking for a copy or a text file of it? I'd be much obliged.

To answer that indirectly; I generally find Tolkien very linear, dull, verbose and clichéd (a little unfair, I know, since he started some of those clichés.) I'd much rather read someone like Gibson, and if this was much like Tolkien it's less likely I would've enjoyed it.

There's certainly action, and nobody's sacred -- "name" characters can (and sometimes do) die. Nightbeat, Kup and Soundwave get a particular focus, and there's a restrained smattering of original (i.e. fan-created) characters -- but the featured cast is much larger and more diverse.

Wandering slightly off-topic, one of my favourite bits that doesn't give too much away:

(Not particularly representative of the prose style, being an extended speech by Prime.)

Its quite tolkienesque in terms of some of the descriptions (which occasionally become a bit much) but not in terms of character insight or pacing.

Cheers. Sorry, missed that in the process of mucking around with camera.
