They could have a main ongoing 'G1' title, with larger story arcs, and maybe another line for the Spotlights (kind of like how Batman and Detective Comics run parallel). And maybe some minis now and then. I don't see why publishers shy away from the ongoing format - it worked for DW too.

Steadily decreasing sales on volume three, and ensuring no other companies doing an ongoing with TF comics would be given shelf space?

... like they're doing at the moment, y'mean?

Save for the occasional gap in the ongoing (which is something most publishers do - the TF comic is still more regular than Ultimates, Astonishing X-Men or Planetary) and a silly approach to numbering. If you know where you're looking, Escalation 6 is easily identifiable as #16.
Grrr. Argh.

To be honest, I am quite happy to only get 6 'regular' issues per year or whatever, the stories are well worth waiting for and the spotlights keep me topped up along the way.

The occasional gap is what irritates me. I mean by the time we get back into the current story arc, you need to re-read the previous 6-parter to see where we left off...

With DW I meant more something like Armada-Energon was... 4 or 3 parter stories and some 'one-shots' or small 2-parters etched in between those.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear in that previous post. Was a bit tired when I wrote that.
