We mostly hate the movie. This is fact. But I doubt any of us begrudge the media spotlight on Transformers right now, and based on the "Well this is just odd" thread, there is a lot of intense fannish passion still around. I love reading that thread and hearing all the stories. I want to spread the love.

So, to "prepare for the movie," I'm going to buy the Infiltration and Stormbringer TPBs and donate them to the local library. It'd be cool if you wants to join in and do something selfless in order to help our favorite stories. (Also to show people that there is more to the TFs than this big bloated Bay.) Give the TPB or manga to a friend, especially a kid. Donate some toys to a women and children's shelter, or a foster home. This franchise we love has been resurrected, re-imagined and revitalized beyond anyone's hopes. Let's spread some love and make sure it never ends.

Who's with me?

I am sooo with you. Donating old TF TPBs to the library? Genius.

And I've got some Universe/Armada/Energon figures that I definetly don't need. I bought them in some sort of TF infused haze, and I treat them like that bad tattoo on your ass you got when you were completly wasted.

I like that idea. One of my concerns about this movie is that the fanbase and the younger kids that buy the toys will be cast aside by the designs, essentially killing the toy sales. Like I said on another board, ugly doesn't sell most of the time. Most kids(and us fans alike) buy toys that look cool. Movie "Megatron", "Starscream", and most others don't scream "cool" to the consumer, essentially repelling kids and leading them buy a Power Ranger(no offense Aaron) or a R.E.V.

I've got a big box of junkers behind me right now, so I may donate these. As I said before, I like your idea.

Right on. Should we have a specific date for this, or a date to have done it by?

Probably have it done by mid-June. That's around the time that commercials are poured on, so kids can figure out what's wrong quicker.

As long as it's done by the movie, so people can go out and get some decent TF, that soudns good to me.

Was the title of this topic Dumb and Dumber inspired? lol Kick his ass, C Bass!

Heh... that's funny. I saw Dumb & Dumber so much during high school that I didn't even realize I was quoting it. That & Tommy Boy were my convenient replacements for normal conversation.

And the good thing is, kids these days still know these references. I dropped "Fat guy in a little coat..." on a 17 year old that I work with the other day, and she's totally knew what I was talking about. I'm like, "Way to do you cultural DVD homework! Who CARES that you don't know how the Cold War ended!" lol
