Post
by veritech » Thu Mar 15, 2007 2:25 pm
I just read on another site (Bottalk) that Titan will be publishing a new UK TF comic that will be mainly new movie continuity and will begin with serializing IDW's current Movie prequel comic!!!
Any truth to this?

LOL! Sorry, but Bottalk's info was cut and pasted from this site. I thought it was funny.

As far as I remember, it was ostensibly Bob Skir's board, whilst actually being linked in with Renaud (BigBot.com) to the extent of him impersonating Skir on multiple occasions. Widespread silent deletions, staff maliciously modifying user profiles, and it's been non-viewable without a login for a long time.
Basically the yardstick by which other boards go "At least we're not..." Or used to, anyway.

Now you made me curious enough to check it out, Denyer.

I had no clue that Bottalk was so controversial! Don't get me wrong, it's not the greatest board, but I've never had a problem with it!

Bottalk, eh? I've never heard of it before, but it sounds like what Seibertron is becoming. All I did was state my opinions about matters and they banned me. The best reason they gave was that "no one liked me". I never broke any rules when they locked my account. Huh.
On topic: A new UK comic? If so, I'm counting on the Brits here to scan 'em.

No idea what it's like these days. Do people mention other TF sites in their signatures and profiles now, not get links to other sites for information edited out, etc? We're talking a half decade ago minimum, and things can change a lot...

Interestingly enough, I read on the Bottalk board yesterday that you are not supposed to mention other TF boards on Bottalk. That didn't come from a moderater, however, merely another poster.

The first rule of Bottalk is... you never talk about Bottalk.
The second rule of Bottalk is... (you get the idea)

The difference is that Seibertron is more than just its message board.
Bottalk is my favorite board outside of Transfans. Yes, mentioning other TF sites will get your post edited, etc, but there are some really interesting folks over there. It's a small community and doesn't suffer from "big board syndrome."
Speaking of Seibertron.com, I've heard they are going to be interviewing Mr. White shortly. I hope we get some more info out of it.

Most boards don't like active recruitment -- it's seen as impolite. They usually don't go as far as removing all mention of anywhere else existing, modifying people's accounts, etc.
Haven't read this, but it may contain info --

Mega sorry about the Necro-Bump but I was just over on Bottalk talking about TFA Season 3 (and how it really should be on DVD). Veritech (the guy above) just said that he got "laughed off the boards for even mentioning Bottalk."
Does it look like we did that? At all?
