Why the name alteration???
We arrived from the alternate dimension we had been thrown into and turned the tide in the battle on Seibertron. Little did we know my arch enemy, Zegatron and his forces had also found a way back into our dimension. He would join Megatron, and the war would go on...........

As far as I'm aware, Hasbro no longer held the rights to the name Shockwave, although Takara still hold the rights to Laserwave.
