our old Senior's Covenant? Indeed sirs, 'tis true. He has aroused the mouth of the great beast. Godspeed in sticking it to the man, Covenant.

I started considering posting my rewritten Monty-Python scene about Murphy on his board after I read the script... but frankly, I can hardly bear reading his board, let alone posting there... TFW2005 and Seibertron are bad enogh, lots of people LIKE the script and the new designs!
"They must be mad. Umm, can you give me their names and adresses?" (another Python reference)
Just read this:

Umm, Ryen is Seibertron, right? Heck, now Murphy hates Seibertron, TFW2005 - is there a site he doesn'nt hate yet?
Jazz robot mode leaked! Priceless!

I know. I haven't visited Don's site in a while. It's like the last time you saw your kids, they were playing in the sandbox, and then when you come back 15 minutes later, it's gone Lord of the Flies on you.
Except Don NEVER gives up the conch. lol

It doesn't matter that Don Murphy is a multi-millionaire as well as the producer of the upcoming Transformers movie. He broke the rules of Seibertron.com's forums, flaming posters, insulting people, etc, so he got banned. Now he's complaining about it on his message board. That's awesome. Celebrities may be able to get away with killing their wives or snogging children in this country, but they're not above the law on Seibertron.com. Priceless!

Ryan vs Don?
Christ.
two humbler online manifestations of whatever they are like in the real world you could not meet.
Its all getting a bit ridiculous now isn't it?
not that it wasn't before.
The levels of hypocrisy, mainly from Murphy, are quite remarkable - like telling Cov that he respects it when he finally debates intelligently, but spending the entire time chucking round childish taunts, or calling people cowards because they have an opinion and choose to post it somewhere other than his forum.
They aren't even good childish taunts, damnit.
Also, he is one of those people that goes on about what he is really like - which is always irritating.
"i play it straight, i'm a new yorker"
blah blah
i'll form my own opinion of you chief, thanks all the same.

I honestly think that you and Ryan would get along quite well over a pint or twelve. Ryan's a good guy offline (not that I have a problem with how he acts online) and is quite different from "The Webmaster of Seibertron.com." Murphy, on the other hand, I have to assume is actually much MORE of an ass offline. He seems like the kind of dude who'd threaten you with a blunt object were you right in front of him. And, as I pointed out earlier, since his net worth is over a couple of million dollars, he could kill you and pin it on somebody else before breakfast.Best First wrote:Ryan vs Don?

Personally I think the TF fandom has generally got the director/producer it deserves for it's movie. The more 'refined' fan (if that's what we might be) seems to be in the minority against people who will be happy if the latest media incarnation of the TFs has enough lame dialog and explosions in it.

I know I have said I'm gonna remain optimistic about the movie. but I defintely agree that Don Murphy is nothing but a fat whiney b****. God forbid the Fans critisize what is happening to our beloved Transformers. Oh no Don the fans are not happy with your movie time to run for the bunker and setup the baracades cuse it's War!

Have you approached him for an interview? Might be worth it just for the thrill of banning him from here as well!Best First wrote:Just for the record Transfans is now a secret attack board.

What irks me most is the way Don hooked us with his "I'm a fan, and we cater to fans" stance.
Now that he's got what he wanted and the movie is rolling along, its like "well, [composite word including 'f*ck'] you all anyway, we're doing things our way, but thanks for your support in getting this thing going."

"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

That DID irk me a lot, but now what's irking me is the absolute cult of personality that dm board is. I mean, I just want to hold up a sign that says, "SAVE WHAT LITTLE DIGNITY YOU HAVE LEFT AND STOP KISSING THE SMARMY, FAT, PALE, UNKEMPT, PATHETIC LITTLE MAN'S ASS"
Unfortunately, the problem is, as someone has mentioned, he has millions of dollars, which in our culture means that you're a success and a good person.

Unfortunetly even if they came to there sences and relized that everything we have been saying it's too late they have already spent too much money on stuff like pryotechnics, actor's salires, Don Murphy's food supplies......... wich makes up like half the budget.

As I said first, Yaya said second, and Karl says everytime he gets the chance, the Fandom was used to generate support for the greenlight. To show that there was a market for the film. Now that the film is in production, we're basically collateral damage as they rush to grab the "I want to see stuff blow up, like those toys I had when I was a kid" demographic.

My friends were, oh, ok cool to Ops, and WTF to Megs.
But still, they have no attachment to these characters. And unless you've read the comic book POST when G1 was cool, you have no idea there could even be depth to the characters. So while they don't look like TF, if they have big guns and look cool, that's the most important thing to them.

Indeed. A few of the guys I work with are what I would call 'casuals'. They were dead excited about the prospect of a film because to them it will always be a nostalgia series.spiderfrommars wrote:However, I know loads of people who remember the toys but when they see the new designs even they go "they're not TFs!"Shanti418 wrote:like those toys I had when I was a kid" demographic.
Their reaction was 'ugh they look ****', 'That looks nothing like Megatron or Starscream'
