How old a Transfan are you?

Post by Doug Yarbrough » Thu Aug 03, 2006 11:03 pm

I am 29 and was an original Transfan from when the original series came out. I am just wondering how many of us there are left that still have at least a little bit of interest in Transformers? Things get so busy in our lives that we find other things. I haven't been to this forum in years and kinda fell out of things after it went changed over from Omega Supreme's Message Board in the late 1990s/2000.

I'm 26, and my mom is still pissed at my cousin for breaking off the arm of my Christmas present G1 Optimus Prime the day after I got it.

I have no idea how old I am. Someone needs to cut me in half and count the rings...

I have a chainsaw, if you need it... :D

I was just 28 on the 22th of July... so I guess since I'm OVER 28, I'm 29... I dunno. Gah.

I wonder how old the oldest Transfan is. Here in Hungary I occasionally sell toys to a guy whose father  collects them... the guy is as old as I am so his dad should be about 50-55... I guess.

Though I remember a topic here with someone meeting a 80 years old TF fan... :)

It didn't stay in "Middle Earth" for more than five minutes. Normally I expect at least an hour. Especially for what you charge.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that most TF fans will be in the 25-35 range. I was 8 in 1984 when the toys and toon came out and grew up with TF as a major force in kiddie pop culture.

I'm 23, got hooked by the comics in the first half of the 90s and I'm still here for the comics. And for laughs. The rest of TF stuff I care not about.

That is kind of where I'm at. I collect the TF comics but don't actually pick up the figures.

Yeah, I liked the toys when I was a kid, but long after I stopped playing with toys, I still collected the comics. Then comics brought me back in a few years ago, I got back into toys a bit, now I'm back outta toys (except for cool Alternators and DAMN these Titanium/Classics lines will test my wilpower) and still get the comics.

Rapidly heading towards 32

Been a fan since I picked up issue 1 of the UK comic when it first came out. Always primarily been a fan of the comics, but had the toys as a kid (well still have them, but stopped buying them a long time ago).

My son's into Beast Wars, which I never took much notice of when it first happened. So, now I have a good excuse to scour Ebay for Beast Wars toys, and kinda catch up on what I missed there......all for my boy of course

Wow. I halfway thought I'd be one of the oldest in here. Glad to see that so many of my generation still haven't lost interest in our old childhood heros. After you get out of school and all you get kinda busy, especially if you are raising a family.

Oh well, dad to this day has never lost interest in Roy Rogers, Superman or any of the saturday serials (humorous now) or any of his childhood cartoons and tv shows. And he is in his 60s

OMG! What the heck is it with this board?? I'm in the 20% minority here!

Jeeze! You're all a bunch of old farts! :p I'm 22 meself. ;)

I kind of got into Transformers around late 1987-88 when I was around... what? 4 years old? Something like that. I got the comics around then, ( along with He-man of course) even though I could hardly understand a thing, since I couldn't actually read! Thank god for the cartoon...

I'm 31, and I've been returning to Transformers every now and then, just not the comics - which means G2 was little more than an earnest attempt at reviving the show for me. BW and BM was ace. After RiD though it's all been just... Minicons. All the way Minicons, can't even revive G1 as MTMTE without Minicons.

As for toys... well.
