Your favourite Obscure Transformer character?

Post by JawBreaker » Wed Aug 02, 2006 10:05 pm

As simple as it sounds! Whose you favourite Unsung hero of the transformer world ?
Or simply one you like the look of...

Personally I’m going to have to go with Needlenose, being one of the few Cons i could identify with in most situations.

Sure we wasn't the greatest fighter, sure he was scared of his shadow but it was a little different from the general- ‘I’m a Con... I kill stuff... .....What ?’

Oh wile on the subject does anyone know the issue number or how Needlenose dies (I’m guessing he does at some point) I cant seem to find it but I remember seeing something like it.

Pipes.

He had 9 strength!

9!

NINE!

NIIIIINE!

And his transformation was better than Huffer's.

Rook and Mindset from G2.

(On the subject of the G2 comic, it was cool how Manny Galan never drew two G2 TFs the same way).

I quite liked the Hot Rod Patrol until they appeared in the Micromaster comic...

Depends on what you mean by obscure. Straxus is an obscure but quite famous Transformer, while I wouldn't describe Pipes or Needlenose as being obscure as they have toys and whatnot. If we're allowing toy characters, then probably someone like Pounce :) If not, I dunno, Scrounge?
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Chalk me up for Scrounge.

Of course, he was quite the hero, so I'm not sure if by obscure you mean barely shown or scrub-like.

If we're talking someone nobody knows much about, I'd have to say Ruckus. He had somewhat good characterization by Furman in the Marvel run, but has yet to ever surface again to my knowledge.
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

My namesake: The Last Autobot.

He was definitely interesting.

If not: Corkscrew :)

Exactly. I mean you could call Blot obscure - does anybody have any idea what he's meant to be?

I'll answer when we reach a concensual definition...

That little guy who turns into a piano in Maccadam's.

He was great. A drunk who can provide his own backing band.

And him getting the crap kicked out of him is what spurred Topspin and the rest of the Wreckers into being all awesomer and stuff.

Is'nt it obvious? He's a mechanoid gorilla with claws and some reptilian features. or maybe not... :D Robots in disguise, my tailpipe.

I choose Crosscut as my obscure TF... really liked his design. It's not like he could transform, mind you...

Pounce - because he sounds hard as nails.

Not tech transformers but I really like Hook line and sinker

Spanner the space bridge.

But I have some who I oddly like more then others as he has some character at least.

Macabre - Impys assassin. - looks cool.

Repugnus. He was never really used, and always seemed to have one of the more interesting characters in the TF universe.

I'll throw my vote in with Punch/Counterpunch. I mean come on he could transform from an Autobot to a Decepticon, and that's just freeking sweet.
Autobots transform and........... wait what was I saying again? Dude Roddimus I'm so baked right now.

Doubledealer could also perform this feat - and he was a Powermaster to boot!

Punch never really "transformed" into a Decepticon, though, did he? He just... well... turned to face the other way.

Musta been hell sneaking out of Decepticon HQ without ever having your back to somebody...

Ok that's true but I never really cared for Doubledealer presonally. and Punch was always one of my Favorite TF's, and Punch did actually "transform" into Counterpunch in the G1 cartoon.

He wore a cloak! 8)

The three Bot double targetmasters weren't used much, but they all had some lines at one point. Heck, Scoop even switched sides and became a Con in one UK Annual story, though it was unintenional (most likely the author confused him and Quake).
