I'm a little confused as to which continuity the new IDW Beast Wars comic fits into.
I read someplace that it was right in the middle of the actual BW cartoon continuity and therefore not part of the new IDW G1 universe in any way.
But now we have a 'Grimlock' character popping up in the BW comic. This would only work in the BW cartoon universe if BW was not part of the Marvel comics continuity or the G1 cartoon continuity. For instance, int the 'toon, G1 Grimlock was built by the Autobots on earth in the 1980's . . . but in the Marvel comics, we learn that the dinobots were operative on prehistoric earth and fought Shockwave. But in those issues, the Dinobots were robotic-looking Dinosaurs and not organic.
So where does that leave us?

Besides, who would approach Grimmy and tell him he needs his speech problem fixed? I know I wouldn't... maybe Omega Supreme or Metroplex would dare, I guess....Predabot wrote:I think it's quite a possibility that he doesn't want it fixed. ( I believe this has been stated in a tf uk letters column)
I'm also curious - now that all is gone and done, Megatron knows there are lots of other Transformers on Earth too... doesn't this worries him?
I hope we also see some conclusion to the threads left hanging... after all, Primal left a real mess when he left back for Cybertron. Leaving Waspinator there for example... but even leaving remains of technology from the future, or dead Preds and Maximals behind, that was a foolish thing that could have changed history... like say, during the roman empire someone finds Inferno's gun and makes it work... just think about it.
I always liked to think Primal should have cleaned up earth first before leaving for Cybertron, since he had all the time he wanted - with the Transwarp tech he could go back in time.

That was a grieving-over-Ratchet Bumblebee, actually.Predabot wrote:Actually, towards the end of the Marvel-run, in "Yesterdays Heroes", Jazz dared it, while cosely tucked in his Pretender-shell...BB Shockwave wrote:Besides, who would approach Grimmy and tell him he needs his speech problem fixed?

Simple method for remembering the events of Alignment:Best First wrote:yeah, i think Grimmers buys it. I'd go and check but that would involve reading Alignment again.
Everybody dies except Swoop.
And I think maybe even Swoop dies, too.
But, basically, if they're in it and not called Swoop, they die. If they are called Swoop, they possibly died but I can't remember.
Grrr. Argh.

Even if a Roman did manage to make Inferno's gun work- Even if he took it apart and understood all the inside machinery- He'd not be able to build any more because there's the level of technology isn't high enough to support manufacturing even the simpliest part. So all he'd have is one gun that's probably to heavy for him to pick up. Which makes him as threatening as Megatron trying to take over the World with a death ray on a mountin in the middle of no where.BB Shockwave wrote: but even leaving remains of technology from the future, or dead Preds and Maximals behind, that was a foolish thing that could have changed history... like say, during the roman empire someone finds Inferno's gun and makes it work... just think about it.

Beast Wars upcoming
Chris Ryall has definitely promised more Beast Wars stuff in the future. That's all I know. A search of the IDW site turned up little else in the way of news... anyone know anything? Any word from Comic-Con?

whilst that is a bit of a shame, i can quite understand their decision not to join it all up... their G1iverse is just too removed from the original, which BW was based on, to twist BW to fit their new G1 would just take away from the heart of BW (imho).spiderfrommars wrote:It will come out in regular volumes instead of an ongoing, and apparently is not the same continuity as Infiltration.

Yes, and Megs did that quite often. He had a fixation for death rays....inflatable dalek wrote:

Still, some of the technology could have survived the ages in working condition. After all, the Ark was much older then the Axalon and it survived more-less intact (I know, diecast construction...) so pretty much anything else could have.
Even a head/spark of a Predacon left behind. Granted, Inferno or Quickstrike were'nt the brightest minds, but imagine if some human (say, Genghis Khan, Hitler, ect) managed to revive them... they'd have been unstoppable in that era. PLus there is Tarantulas. I never belived he truly died in that cave - he was blown up before that numerous times, only to be put back together by his spiders. Heck, he survived the explosion of Ravage's ship and he was at the center of the explosion.
So anyway, my point is, Primal really was careless (and the writers didn't have any more episodes to tell a full story) and I wouldn't be suprised if the IDW comic would continue even after 'Nemesis' and the departure of OP and his forces, as the old DW summer special comic indicated.
