Well that'd be something new...
I really got pissed when Megs let both Shockwave and Starscream live in the DW ongoing. Utterly illogical and stupid.
In G2 it was reasonable - Megs needed him - but I bet once the Swarm was gone, SS high-tailed it out of there before Megs and all the Cons he betrayed to the Cybertronians remembered him..

Um... a drunk post, (I haven't done it yet, but I pled extenuating circumstances) an argument with Yaya/Bouncelot on one side or Smooth/Emvee on the other on religion... though Smooth has gone all Satanist now... and you have to sleep on Emvee's couch. Bonus points for getting it on with a fellow Transfan while on the couch.Deceptichick wrote:Um... yeeeahhh. Is there a hazing process?
Oh, I know! Wouldn't that be the greatest thing ever?Best First wrote:in that case i really shouldn't mention that i really, really hope Megatron offs starscream in issue 6 of Infiltration.

Being a Satanist adds to my hatred of religion. It does not detract from it. Personally, it's not that I hate the show....I have fond memories of watching the show as a kid. I have fond memories of renting all the seasons of the show and watching them consecutively a few months ago.
It's just that people feel, in terms of storytelling, it was a kid's show. For better or for worse.
Except for "The Girl Who Loved Powerglide." That was an emotional, heart wrenching epic drama with characters virtually plucked out of the tapestry of my own life.
However, don't let that keep you from becoming evily female. It sounds kinda hot.

Smooth, I really don't get how Satanism is not a religion. Maybe you're not venerating a divine being, but you are venerating a supernatural being. You are part of an organization based on some devotion to the supernatural and some laws that correspond to a supernatural will.
It may not be the narrowest definition of religion, but it's included in the spectrum.

I'm not venerating any being. To me, and to other LaVeyan Satanists, Satan is no more real than Spider-Man. As Spider-Man represents responsibility, Satan represents indulgence and knowlege. There is no supernatural will. The Satanist worships nobody but himself. There is no devotion to the supernatural. There is only devotion to oneself.sprunkner wrote:Smooth, I really don't get how Satanism is not a religion. Maybe you're not venerating a divine being, but you are venerating a supernatural being. Man, I can't wait for that Teaser Trailer! Apparently it's 90 seconds long and features new orchestral music!

Come over to my place and I'll show you my definition of satanism, Crowley-Satanism! There are no inhibitions! We take what we want and get what we need!
I have a very sophisticated plan for snaring some special favors from Shaitan, but it's going to require some outside help with the swaying of my life-mate if you know what I mean?

It's still part of the religious spectrum.
If you're Jewish, you could be Orthodox, or you could be part of Jews for Jesus.
If you're Satanist, then there are people like Smooth on one end, and people who honestly worship, Lucifer the fallen angel, He who hath recieved the schlong of Saddam Hussein.
Sorry, but you're part of that spectrum, Smoothie.
On another note, did you just pick the wrong thread to post to, Sprunkner? How did the Satanist conversation end up over here?

Satanism, or more specifically, The First Church of Satan, was founded in 1966 by Anton Szandor LaVey. It was he who wrote The Satanic Bible. The thoughts and opinions expressed within The Satanic Bible, The Satanic Rituals, and The Compleat (Satanic) Witch are his. The person featured on both the video and audio renditions of The Black Mass is Doctor LaVey. Unlike religions like Judaism and Xtianity, Satanism has not been altered by those who thought that adding to it or excluding from it would better "serve the cause." Satanism is still pure.Shanti418 wrote:It's still part of the religious spectrum.

There are those who worship Lucifer, the fallen God. There are also those who pray before the alter of Baphomet. These people are Devil Worshippers, not Satanists. They, the true Devil Worshippers, not the goth kids who are just trying to piss of their parents or get their kicks out of mutilating stray cats, would take offense to being called Satanists.

You are part of a religion believe it or not! You fit with at least a couple of definitions.
Returning to the topic, I m definitely eager to see the teaser trailer, just a few days more!!!

Going by those definitions, I am definately part of a religion. 3's pretty close, 4's a definate. However, going by that definition, my Transformers and comic book collecting habits qualify as religions. The Last Autobot wrote:[

But that doesnt change the fact that you belong to a religion. So you think you are independant but you do the things the way you want because your religion tells you so.
How ironic is life!
And once more returning to the topic:
I wonder if that eye is from a generic robot or someone in special?

It's like everything spirals back to a religious discussion around here. It's our Matrix.
[edit] I guess it's because I already said "Amen" in the actual Satanist thread.

Yeah, only little more than 2 weeks to the trailer lads..
And as for Smooth...
Bah. LaVey was a charlatan and a fool. His pitifull attempts at coming even close to the freedom that the teachings of Crowley give to the individual has not earned him any favors among us.
And I see that you turned down my offer concerning my life-mate, but know you this, it was a one-time offer.
You better stay out of my way or I'm going to implement you to the attention of the Pseudo-Nihilistic Gnostic Crowleys!
Seriously tho, the only religion I feel like following right now is one of my own devising, heavily influenced by Jack Kirbys ideas of the Source, and cosmic energy.
