True - but TF had thier own legs for millions of years before too...
I know we have been through this before but I still find them off putting, just because they might be better, and im sure they are, for me isnt really the point.
I dont think the current style look right on the bottom of a TF chassis, if your going to change the bottom half to some sleek and possibly more 'realistic' design then surely the top half should follow suit, otherwise, they look like a clash of styles.

Mmm. They were just "discovered" in 1984.

If the top half isn't where a large chunk of alt mode goes, yes. But TFs don't need incredibly flexible breasts, whereas they would need arms and legs to have full mobility.
Transformers
are a clash of designs, one civilisation more advanced in terms of tech than another. There's no reason they'd dabble with Earth forms if not in disguise.

I understand where your comming from on this and i think the term im looking for to explain myself (I knew Uni would come in handy one day) is Form and Function.
Orginaly the TF design was Form based, ie it looks like a car, TF into a robot with parts of car clearly visable, alot of artistic license was required to make the form belivable in the sense it would 'work'
The new legs strike me as an act of function, where they are far more realistic, and more beliavble. yet they lose alot of individuality.
The question I guess is one of artistic taste, the designer in me says go with the new legs, the artist in me wants the old legs...

Enjoyable. Along with the rest of the series so far it is solid and measured and keeping us guessing.
Only things I was surprised about was Verity's change of heart and Bumblebee's sudden promotion to leading player.
Cool stuff tho. Characterisation of Prowl and Ratchet is cgreat, at the expense of mindless action ('cons blowing stuff up was just fine). Cool ending.
Its starting to become clear just how much new life and ideas Furman is bringing to the franchise. I don't think its the best story ever, but I feel its influence will benefit TF comics for years to come.

just nipped a quick read on the bogs at work. best issue so far in my opinion.
couldn't care less about the legs thing, they work fine for me, and frankly if that's the biggest concern people have then we are going great guns.
more later when i have had time to peruse properly.

I don't have a problem with the legs at all - but the colouring (page 6 is especially bad, but also Blitzwing & Skywarp throughout and pages 4-5 are very wobbly) really spoils the art for me. I showed it to a friend this weekend who hadn't seen any IDW stuff and he said that in places it was like reading a badly printed 80s comic. Then I showed him BW#1 and he couldn't stop singing its praises - the difference in the colouring between the two titles is staggering.
Like BF said, if that's all we're complaining about (leg design and colour) then it's a good sign, but I really think that Rauch should make a bit more effort than just filling in the areas underneath Prowl's chassis with a flat grey. Or, as I believe I've mentioned elsewhere, they should get Josh to do the colouring, because I don't think I've ever not liked his work.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

perhpas they did the legs to throw everyone off the bad points?
Seriously tho, the legs dont bother me in the sense they detract from the overall effect. on Artitic merits tho I find them hard to accept.
