What DON'T you know?

Over the last 25 years the Transformers have appeared in media from the exquisite to the scribbled and been licensed to the responsible and the... Pat Lee. Discussion of all the branches of TF media within!

What aspects of the TF franchise do you know the least about?

For me its probably the Japanese cartoons, though I will start looking into these shortly. I'm also not much of a toy enthusiast - my collection is quite average.

I'm kinda hazy on Armada > Cybertron cartoons, though I've been watching some of the Galaxy Force subs. Some of the more obscure Japanese toys, I suppose.

Quite into the European-only/end of G1/start of G2/later released as Machine Wars stuff at the moment...Thunderclash, Pyro, Clench and especially the Predators are tragically under-explored characters. I love the way the Predators all have a certain "look" as well as shared colours, implying they may be a different breed or race of Decepticons. Maybe Furman will get to do something with them someday.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Same as you probably, my knowledge of the Japanese only stuff (toys and cartoons) is very limited, tis definitely my weak spot.

The originators of the later "Predacon" faction maybe? ;)

I dabbled quite a bit at the time (there wasn't a comic then). I picked up a few Axelerators and (I think) Predators (or whatever the 'con jets were - Tornado was one). I found a lot of those toys weren't very durable and broke easily but looked cool.

Apparently Clench was to be a 'con leader? Furman would have certainly explored further if the G2 comic didn't get axed.

According to his techspec, yeah, Clench > j00.

My weakspot is the current stuff. Cybertron, Energon... Armada and RiD to a lesser degree. Still not got round to watching Victory. Huge blindspot for a lot of the Gen 2 toys, too.
Grrr. Argh.

Anything that doesn't really interest me. There are excellent resources, I can blag some things and have picked up others through osmosis, but I'm largely Old Stuff. Stories and implications rather than detail.

I've only read a handful of the British comics, and I haven't read more than one or two of the earlier Marvel comics. The issues leading up to and following the 'Matrix Quest' I know in and out, but very little before that.

I know nothing about the Japanese cartoons.

Weird as it sounds, I never got into Beast Wars. When it first aired, all I could think was "Transformers aren't supposed to be animals!" Now I see the error of my ways, but I'm still too much of a G1 fan to bother going back.

So basically everything I know about BW/BM comes from the TF encyclopedias.

Has to be RID. I couldn't bear to watch more then 2 episodes, which I immedtaitly deleted afterwards...

Spidy, Furman mentioned in an old interview (from DW era) that he wanted to do some stuff with the Obliterators (Clench and Pyro) in TWW. Would have been cool as I quite like these guys... Btw I just bought my last Predator jet, Falcon, last week (for 2,5$ no less... ;) ). I think, in time, we would have seen them too in TWW just like we did see the Turbomasters.

But, as we know, there are known knowns - there are things we know we know. We also know that there are known unknowns - that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don't know we don't know.

So which category of unknowns are your unknowns in?

Don't know much about:

Japanese cartoons
Beast Machines
RID
Armada cartoon
Energon Cartoon
Cybertron Cartoon
Cybetron Toys

of the above i only really care about finding out about Beast Machines.

For those intersted in Japanese Toys, J. E ALverez's book is quite fun:

Yeah, now I remember too! A friend of mine asked me that he can buy it for 50$ and whether he should... It looks a bit different on the book cover.
