TwinSpin and TopTwist, or Salt Man X and Salt Man Y if you like that kind of thing. In the UK they were Wreckers, in the US they were entirely absent and in DW they were Wreckers for a bit and later became Magnus's crew (and possibly still Wreckers, I think it's mentioned in MTMTE). Their lack of Earth alt-modes will probably bar them from IDW at least for the time being. And of course in real life they are probably the most ubiquitous Transformers toys ever. I seemingly have hundreds of the buggers.
Thoughts? Observations? Marks out of ten?

We never really got any proper character development did we? But in my mind they were always the Autobot equvelent (character wise) of Runabout and Runamuck........wiseass punks. And the Autobots needed that IMO
Y'know, I thought I was in a minority who actually liked the toys....I was the only person I knew who had them when I was a kid. I just assumed that would mean they were rarer now.......EmVee wrote:And of course in real life they are probably the most ubiquitous Transformers toys ever. I seemingly have hundreds of the buggers.

Well, they were treated mostly as background wreckers in Marvel. Heck, the only Wreckers to get decent character development were Impy and Springer.
I quite liked the gimmick on the toy as well. I didn't have one, but my cousins did. In those days there wasn't the stupdity in gimmicks that came later on.

i quite liked the toys, they were total bricks with a somewhat suspect 'gimmick' but they were niely detailed. if only they had _some/- articulation, they'd have been awesome. i guess the plus side of being bricks is that they were bloody hard to break, sure the springs went in both of mine, but they're actually intact... a rarity for many of my original G1s!
Comic wise, they didn't really get much character development, the wrecker issue of t:2006 gave them a bit, but after that, they didn't get a lot of page time, save as just being members of the wreckers... a shame really.

Funny, for you they are common, we in Middle Europe hardly ever see one.
Though, they remain the most commonly bootlegged TFs of all time. Some bootlegs are quite ingenious...
Character-wise, Topspin was an action-junkie punk, Twin Twist never really got any spotlight, except wasting Fang in the first Wrecker story.
They were done quite good in DW's G1 Vol.2., I give Mick the credit for that.
