Getaway says in War Within "my proto-hatcher would be proud."
What's one of them then?
Anything to do with G2 reproduction?
Or his designer?
Someone birthing him via Matrix flame?
One of the Primes (via Matrix)?
Primus??
Proto-hatcher?

More to do with protoforms like in Beast Wars, I suspect. Starscream took the Combaticons as protoforms in DWG1V2, and later we saw them as fully-formed Decepticons - in that case I'd suggest Starscream was their proto-hatcher, just as Tarantulas was for BlackArachnia and Rampage was for Transmutate. I would propose a rudimentary definition to be something like:
pro'to-hatch'er - n. A Transformer who undertakes the responsibility for another's transition from protoform to fully-conscious mechanoid.
pro'to-hatch'er - n. A Transformer who undertakes the responsibility for another's transition from protoform to fully-conscious mechanoid.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Well Tarantulas had an effect on BlackArachnia, right? Down to the level of entering a shell and altering her programming? I doubt Starscream's that technically gifted but I'm sure he could run the Tank-Helicopter-Military Truck-Shuttle-Combiner wizard to get a bog standard set of Decepticons - remember we see protoforms assuming exactly the same configuration in RID, so maybe it's kinda built into the protoform pod's firmware?Predabot wrote:I.e, did Starscreams need for soldiers, (and super-soldiers, i.e Bruticus) have anything to do with the Combaticons becoming just that, military-grade Decepticons?
