I love the cartoon

Over the last 25 years the Transformers have appeared in media from the exquisite to the scribbled and been licensed to the responsible and the... Pat Lee. Discussion of all the branches of TF media within!

MTMTE Part II: We attack at sunrise!!
Logic dictates there is no place for such emotionalism in a Decepticon commander. Nor is there room for incompetence.

Without question the American G1 cartoon's first season had the best themesong.
"Did you deem yourself strong, because you were able to twist the heads off civilized folk, poor weaklings with muscles like rotten string? Hell! Break the neck of a wild Cimmerian bull before you call yourself strong. I did that, before I was a full-grown man...!"

Well to be fair, although the comic titles didnt sell the story as the cartoon ones. Sure the covers did the job in the same way.

Why put a title "Unicron eating Cybetron" or alike if you show something like this? To me is the same thing.

Oh, and hello again!

How is it the same thing? - it says "The End?" - which is a good title.
Compared to cartoon titles that generally were crap.
think your missing the point.

Some covers did give away the story tho... see UK 321.

I think some of the earlier UK ones were very good at concealing surprises tho.

Im not missing the point Im taking it somewhere else :D. Having a crappy title that gives away the story is the same as having a cover doing the same thing.

But it's not the same level as The Death of Ultra Magnus, methinks. That cover only shows what you were already expecting when you'd seen last page of the previous issue. Maybe you'd need to find another example. ;)

Actually I like how in Polish version we had US# 74 and #75 as one issue with the cover of the former (Prime and Scorpy clobbering worshippers of Unicron). "Don't want to die". "Me too". "Kill Prime!". *slash* *boom* "Naming you leader of the alliance was a part of my plan". Oh, ****, UNCIRON'S ALREADY HERE! :)

No way, they are two different concepts.
especially when the cover doesnt always show what happens inside - it clear wasnt 'the end' was it?

so hence better cover. then crapo cartoon title.

also you have to consider the format. the cartoon doesnt have a cover does it.

either way the comic cover is a totaly different concept and you have missed the point.

Yes the titles didnt tell a thing of what was going to happen.
On the other hand the covers didnt quite do it... Crap cartoon title, crap cover showing what is going to happen anyway

The G1 American cartoon ruled. It was the one that started the whole thing.
"Did you deem yourself strong, because you were able to twist the heads off civilized folk, poor weaklings with muscles like rotten string? Hell! Break the neck of a wild Cimmerian bull before you call yourself strong. I did that, before I was a full-grown man...!"

That pic sucks. The Ark is way too small and there's no way Unicron can be even as big as Metroplex, judging from that pic.

Comics legend Denny O'Neil was also involved long enough to name Optimus Prime, according to Budiansky.

Mmm, quite a lot of action going on the comics offices, really... and somewhat later stuff landed on G. A. Bloom's desk...

And I'm pretty sure that the US comic came out before the first ep of the G1 cartoon aired, as well.

Presumably the Ark is way too small because you can't see it.

The Ark is that ship Unicron is holding. I think that's what he's referring to. And he's right, it is too small. And Unicron is MUCH MUCH too small.

In which case, why are Scorponok, Prime, Kup, and Galvatron falling out of it?

The "ship", is in fact Cybertron...

If you assume there's a few miles below Grimlock, the perspective just about works.
