Eh... I liked War and Peace for the high concept, forgave it for the crappy art and anticlimax as a result. Sunstorm, though, I just couldn't get into-- although the art was awesome.
Generally, even Furman's DW stuff was below standard... seemed like both he and Brick would have good moments in bad product, though the Furster definitely had more of them.

if you dig deep enough beyond the general naffness of it, there is a thin thread of a plot that could have been developed much better. unfortunately it seemed too much for 6 issues, or was just poorly executed...

War and Peace was never going to work. It was fine to begin with - Shockwave uniting Autobots and Decepticons and ruling Cybertron - but then when they get back to Cybertron, it seems like there's hundreds of Autobots either in the resistance or itching for a bit of action, while Shockers has, what, 6 Decepticons under his command?
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

um, good point... reflectorx3, battlechargers, coneheads, triplechangers... (maybe that's why he was so eager to get Meg's troops under his command)... although why keep the special teams locked up when he was so obviously short on troops...Metal Vendetta wrote:War and Peace was never going to work. Agree with all above comments. Disliked that the number of 'Cons seemed to be continued into the ongoing....the Autobots worry about the Decepticon cells that are out there, just waiting to come back etc.
Hi, there's only 6 Decepticons, there are more than 30 of you, including a combiner team, Dinobots, Ark heroes...and they'll be in the wastelands. Everyone hides there. Go look for them instead of sitting about on your arses fretting. Megs found them quick enough.

It's hard to believe Shockwave held Cybertron in his grip with 3 coneheads, 3 Triple-changers, Reflector, the Battlechargers and a few Sentinels... All the while keeping the Combaticons, the top crack squad the Con's ever had in stasis just so that Starscream can nab them and make an old toon reference...KingMob wrote:Agree with all above comments. Also hard to believe that Starscream simply leaves the Stunticons behind as a diversion, when Motormaster was his main lackey in the past (TWW) of course we can't expect Mick to follow what Furman wrote...

Look at Ratbat.
And apparently Mick killed off the Council in G1 Ongoing Issue 4 without telling Furman. Meaning it had to get shoehorned into WW Vol 3, along with all those bloody Seekers no doubt (another McDonough indulgence).
Wasn't Mick editor of Dark Ages apparently? And shouldn't Mick be the one in need of an editor in the first place??
