tf cards

Post by anna » Sun Jul 17, 2005 1:40 pm

recently i made a deal with a guy i sent the money but because i kept him waiting for about 2 and a half weeks he sold what i had bought to someone else(even though i told him id let him know when i sent the money) he felt bad and sent the money back(i guess ill just have to complete my thundercracker another time then)and a couple of bonuses the front half of longtooths shell(witch he was gonna throw in for free in the original deal) and a bunch of the cards now heres the weird part(as well as my question) i noticd the backs of these cards were different then the ones i bought in the 80s(these are the transformers action cards they brought out in 1985) at the tgop of the ones i boughts in 85 it says(on the "starscream" card "card 98" but the one i got from him says "card 81 of 100" why are they different? they both say "series 1" on them the year is the same the picture is the same but the one i got in the 80s has a yellow orange background the one he sent has a darkpink one and the writing is the same too whats the deal with these cards he sent? why are they different in those two ways?

I began work on a TF card battle game similar to Pokemon. The TFs even transformed in battle (by flipping a coin or drawing a certain card) and had different forms of energon depending on if they were in robot, Earth or Cybertron alt mode - that way you had to pick your mode carefully lest you get stuck in it without the power to do anything. They could upgrade to better versions - Prime to Powermaster Prime, Megs to Gavly - or add Nebulans or Pretender shells to boost power and abilities.
I mixed all the series in, so you also had Maximals and Predacons who could only stay in robot mode for a certain number of turns or risk stasis lock.
I even started mocking up some cards. I'll have to find them out and post them in a fanart thread.

No idea on the differing card question though, anna. Sorry.

Surely all you'd need do is cut out all the tech specs?

Still a genius pointing out the obvious that we continue to miss. Well done that mutt. :)

My cards had the techspecs on too - for special event circumstances.

Given the opportunity, I reckon I could make Gallileo cry.

Sorry we're so crap.
Even Rebis too this time.
And the fact that he writes 'pleasure' with a capital 'P' is rather telling on how much he loves pleasure. :p

A quick search turned up these:
http://www.akane.org/michelle/cards.html
http://www.vigilantstudios.net/features/aca/
Try searching with:
transformers cards 1985
for a list of possible help.

Best help I can offer, I'm afraid. :(
